The History of SENNEBOGEN\n1952 Erich Sennebogen, at the age of 21, sets up his own business in Pilling, near Straubing to manufacture agricultural machinery.\n1959 Rapid growth of the company forces him to expand. The new plant is built in Straubing.\n1962 Besides the traditional rope-operated mechanical excavators, the first hydraulic excavators are developed (SH40, SH50, SH60).\n1969 The world’s first fully hydraulic rope excavator is developed by SENNEBOGEN.\n1970 A new generation of hydraulic excavators is developed and is successfully launched on the market (S451, S467, S517, S755, S1164).\n1980 SENNEBOGEN develops the hydraulically adjustable articulated boom. This innovation changes the hydraulic excavator world and has become the standard worldwide.\n1980 SENNEBOGEN designs the EVS three-circuit hydraulic system, thereby setting new standards of speed and efficiency.\n1989 The next step of corporate expansion policy is the decision to build another plant in Wackersdorf. A state-of-the-art production facility for wheeled excavators is set up.\n1991 Official opening and start of production in Wackersdorf.\n1992 A family of heavy-duty rope excavators (635, 645, 660) of up to 60 tonnes capacity is presented at Bauma 1992.\n1996 Set up of own structural steel works in Hungary.\n1996 At the Wackersdorf plant, the production area is expanded by 66%.\n1998 Presentation of a new dimension in the 200-tonne class: The 6180 HD Starlifter is a great success both as a purpose-built carrier machine and as a crawler crane.\n2000 SENNEBOGEN GmbH establishes its first corporate office of SENNEBOGEN LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina.\n2001 Introduction of a new generation of HD rope excavators and crawler cranes at Bauma in Munich.\n2001 SENNEBOGEN delivers first ever 870 M machine to Tube City – Gary Works, Indiana.\n2001 Erich Sennebogen, Sr., the Company founder and owner, celebrates his 70th birthday.\n2002 SENNEBOGEN celebrates 50 years of manufacturing innovation and excellence.\n2003 835 C Series is introduced to the North American marketplace at the ISRI Show in Orlando, Florida.\n2004 850 M C Series makes its worldwide debut at the ISRI Show in Las Vegas – April 2004.\n2004 John Zubick Limited acquired the world’s first 125,000 lb. SENNEBOGEN 850 M after its debut at ISRI 2004 to capitalize on its high lift capacity and long reach.\n2004 Speed is key as the 825 M works throughout the 6-acre site, unloading trucks in less than 10 minutes picking logs from stacks for rail shipment.\n2005 SENNEBOGEN delivers the first 835 special machine to North America.\n2005 SENNEBOGEN introduces the world’s first 840 M at the 2005 ISRI Show in New Orleans.\n2006 821 M equipped with John Deere engine makes its North American debut at the 2006 ISRI Show in Las Vegas.\n2006 The 305 Multihandler is showcased for the first time at the 2006 ISRI Show and 2006 Waste Expo.\n2008 Construction of the additional Plant 2 in the Straubinger Hafen Industrial Park with a total area of 1,345,490 sq. ft. (125,000 m²).\n2009 SENNEBOGEN opens doors to new “purpose-built” 54,000 sq. ft. (5017 m²) American headquarters with complete parts and Training Center in Stanley, NC establishing a world-class facility to support users of material handling equipment in North America.\n2009 SENNEBOGEN Pte. Ltd. opens in Singapore.\n2010 Presented at Bauma and launch of the new 7700 crawler crane in the new 300 ton class – with a simple and cost-saving transport concept.\n2011 On March 21, 2011, our Company founder Erich Sennebogen, Sr. passed away at the age of 79, having guided the Company safely for almost six decades.\n2012 SENNEBOGEN celebrates its 60th anniversary! The logo stands for 60 successful years: the individual “rocks” represent the sales and service partners of the company, the “diamonds” represent the four production sites and subsidiaries.\n2013 At Bauma 2013, SENNEBOGEN exhibited on 22,820 sq. ft. (2120 m²) bigger than ever and formed again the “green heart” of Bauma.\n2013 SENNEBOGEN LLC expands warehouse facility by 45,000 sq. ft. (4180 m²). At more than 100,000 sq. ft. (9300 m²), the North American facility combines administrative and sales offices with a Training Center and a parts warehouse.\n2014 With the opening of the SENNEBOGEN Academy, the family company sets another milestone in the company history. In its facilities, the SENNEBOGEN Academy GmbH & Co. KG houses a modern machine Training Center, including demonstration site, next to the large training and conference rooms.\n2014 When SENNEBOGEN LLC opened its new headquarters in Stanley, NC, in 2009. The facility was equipped with one of America’s premier OEM Training Centers for heavy equipment. The Training Center was an integral part of the original design for the new head office and warehouse and recently expanded to 100,000 sq. ft. under one roof.\n2014 The Eric Sennebogen Museum reflects values of its namesake: “No such thing as it cannot be done!” has been the SENNEBOGEN corporate philosophy right from its beginning over 60 years ago.\nIn addition to the historical and cultural goals of the Erich Sennebogen Museum, the 7,000 sq. ft. (700 m²) facility is also designed to host corporate events and conferences for up to 350 people.\n2015 Expansion Plant 3 in Wackersdorf – Construction of a new 43,056 sq. ft. (4000 m²) manufacturing facility.
