Rehabilitation Center "Elita"

Rehabilitation Center "Elita" (Lviv, Ukraine) is a high-quality and effective rehabilitation center for patients with various neurological diseases, including cerebral palsy, consequences of injuries and diseases of the central nervous system, developmental delays in children, autism, and other autism spectrum disorders. Our uniqueness and main difference from all other rehabilitation clinics is that we use the method of Professor Kozyavkin for treatment, which was officially recognized in Ukraine in 1993 and recommended by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and in 1997 was included in the encyclopedic publication on pediatric orthopedics by Fritz Nitard as one of the four most effective methods for treating CP in the world. Rehabilitation Center "Elita" (now the International Kozyavkin Rehabilitation Center) was the first institution to begin applying the system of intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation – the Kozyavkin method in its medical practice. The center was established in Lviv in 1990 with the support of many international organizations. Its advantageous location in a green area on Chornovola Avenue (formerly known as the 700th anniversary of Lviv Avenue) almost in the center of the city creates comfort for both patients and medical staff. The level of its equipment at the time of opening significantly distinguished it from other medical institutions in Ukraine. Here, for the first time in Ukraine, equipment was installed for conducting computer electroencephalographic studies of the brain with mapping. Rehabilitation Center "Elita" has been and remains a scientific platform where new rehabilitation methods, as well as new scientific and practical technologies for restorative treatment, are developed and tested. Thanks to neurophysiological studies of brain functions, the study of the peculiarities of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems in patients with organic lesions of the nervous system, the basic principles of dosing loads during medical procedures in SNR have been developed. From 1998 to 2000, the center's staff carried out a pilot project "Help for Children with Behavioral Disorders and School Disadaptation," which demonstrated the effectiveness of the Kozyavkin method for treating such children. The center's researchers prepared and implemented Ukrainian versions of world-renowned child development tests – the Gross Motor Function Measurement (GMFM), the Pediatric Evaluation Disability Inventory (PEDI), and the DENVER II child development screening test. According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's resolution No. 765 of July 15, 1997 “On the Approval of the Procedure for State Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions” and the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated March 14, 2011 “On Improving State Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions,” the medical center LLC “Rehabilitation Center “Elita” passed state accreditation. Based on the standards of state accreditation of medical and preventive institutions, an examination of the compliance of the institution with established criteria was conducted in the medical center LLC “Rehabilitation Center “Elita,” and the highest category was assigned by the Main Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the accreditation certificate No. 014190 was issued on November 30, 2018. The medical services provided by the Rehabilitation Center “Elita” meet the requirements of the national standard DSTU ISO 9001:2015 and the international ISO 9001:2015. The certificate of compliance with this standard was obtained in December 2022 after an audit by the international company TUV Austria CERT GMBH.
