Our Story Founder Kyla Brennan started Rare Assembly after years of struggling to find the right gifts for certain people and occasions. She started her own marketing firm in 2012, which she continued to run after its acquisition by The New York Times in 2016. During that time, she found herself constantly frustrated by the lack of thoughtful, well designed gifts to give to clients and employees -- and even friends and family. Founder Kyla Brennan Kyla's interest in this gap in the market turned into an obsession, until she finally decided to "quit her day job" and focus on the pursuit of good gifting full-time.
