According to a news agency report, UBE Corporation’s annual report for fiscal year 2026 ended March 31, 2026 showed that full-year total revenue was 462.343 billion yen, down 5.02% year on year, while profit attributable to shareholders was 23.872 billion yen, compared with a loss of 4.816 billion yen in the same period of the previous year, returning to profitability. The company is primarily engaged in the manufacturing and sale of caprolactam, nylon, industrial chemicals, synthetic rubber, ammonia, ammonium sulfate, and nylon resins through its Chemicals and Resins segment. The Functional Products and Fine Chemicals segment provides functional materials, electronics- and information communications-related products, and phenolic resins. The Pharmaceuticals segment offers pharmaceutical products. The Construction Materials segment provides cement, limestone, and construction materials. The Machinery and Metal Products segment supplies industrial machinery, hydraulic equipment, marine equipment, and molded products. The Energy and Environmental segment sells coal, operates call centers, and sells electricity. Other segments are involved in the development, purchase, sale, and leasing of real estate.

    Domestic Futures Main Contracts Mostly Decline
    At midday close, most domestic futures main contracts fell, with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dropping over 6%, fuel oil and asphalt falling over 4%, and propylene, SC crude oil, methanol, synthetic rubber, and ethylene glycol (EG) declining over 3%.     South Korea's May Auto Exports, Domestic Sales, and Output All Fall Year Over Year, While New Energy Vehicles Remain Resilient
    On June 17, the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy released data on the "May Automotive Industry Trends," showing that South Korea's automobile export value in May was 5.83 billion USD, down 5.9% year-on-year. Export volume was 230,072 vehicles, a decrease of 6.6% year-on-year. Domestic sales (127,315 vehicles) and production (329,559 vehicles) decreased by 10.3% and 8.2% year-on-year, respectively. Despite this, the production and sales of new energy vehicles continued to show strong growth momentum. The export value of new energy vehicles in May was 2.4 billion USD, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year, accounting for more than 40% of total automobile exports. Export volume was 83,145 vehicles, up 11.2% year-on-year. Domestic sales were 77,179 vehicles, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year.
