Russian e-commerce platform M.Video has announced the expansion of its own car sales business, adding Lada and Moskvich brand vehicles. Changan Automobile announced today that it has partnered with CATL to introduce sodium-ion batteries and will launch sodium battery passenger vehicles under its various brands. According to Gao Huan, CATL's Chief Technology Officer, CATL's sodium-ion battery cells have a maximum energy density of 175Wh/kg, enabling a pure electric vehicle range of over 400 kilometers, with potential upgrades to 500 kilometers or even 600 kilometers in the future. Hybrid models could also achieve a range of 300-400 kilometers. CATL plans to deploy 3,000 battery swapping stations in over 140 cities this year and will rapidly launch multiple sodium battery models with Changan Automobile in 2026.
