BYD Joins International Automotive Task Force (IATF)

On March 12, Honda Motor announced that it expects an operating loss of ¥270 billion to ¥570 billion for fiscal year 2025 (April 2025–March 2026), revising downward from its prior forecast of ¥550 billion in operating profit; it also expects a net loss of ¥420 billion to ¥690 billion (approximately RMB 11.6 billion to RMB 24.7 billion), revising downward from its prior forecast of ¥300 billion in net profit. The company also announced on the same day that it had canceled the development and launch plans for some of its U.S.-made electric vehicles. It is expected that the total costs and losses from reevaluating its electrification strategy could reach up to 2.5 trillion yen (approximately RMB 108.2 billion). It is reported that this is Honda Motor's first annual loss since its launch.

At AWE 2026, Caiyun News reporter saw Tesla showcasing the Cybertruck and the humanoid robot (Tesla Bot). According to the staff on site, the humanoid robot on display is the third-generation model, and the final version may have minor differences from the one on display. This will be Tesla's first mass-produced robot model, with production planned to start in late 2026, and a long-term production capacity of 1 million units.

According to Cailian News, Li Bin, founder and chairman of NIO, stated that the price increases of memory storage and other raw materials have raised the cost of premium new-energy vehicles by RMB 3,000 to 5,000 per vehicle, totaling nearly RMB 10,000. NIO’s current system can absorb the pressure from these cost increases, and the company currently has no plans to adjust prices.

According to the Shanghai Securities News, on March 11, Tesla China announced that, according to the latest statistics, the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory’s delivery volume in February 2026 reached 58,600 units, representing a significant year-on-year growth of 91% compared to February 2025. Among these, the Model Y ranked first in domestic passenger vehicle wholesale sales volume for February.

On March 11, BYD Company Limited officially joined the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). BYD Group has become a new member of IATF AISBL.
