Overview of OPGW Fiber Optic Cable:

OPGW Fiber Optic Cable is also known as Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire. Its structure generally adopts aluminum tube type, aluminum frame type, and (stainless) steel tube type. The structure of 12-core OPGW fiber optic cable consists of 12 pieces of 250μm optical fibers encased in a stainless steel tube, with aluminum-clad steel wire (AS wire) wrapped around the tube and an outer layer wrapped in aluminum alloy wire (AA wire) twisted into a cable.


OPGW Fiber Optic Cable Product Advantages:

. Replaces existing ground wire, upgrading power optical communication lines;
. When constructing new overhead power lines, it is designed and planned in conjunction with the ground wire;

Applications of OPGW Fiber Optic Cable:
1. OPGW fiber optic cables are mainly used in 110KV, 220KV, and 550KV voltage level lines, and due to factors like power outages and safety concerns, they are mostly applied in new lines.
2. For high voltage lines exceeding 110KV, the span is relatively large (generally over 250M);
3. Easy to maintain, easily resolves crossing issues, and its mechanical properties can meet the requirements for large spans;
4. The outer layer of OPGW is metal armored, which is unaffected by high voltage corrosion and degradation;
5. OPGW must be installed during power outages, which can result in significant losses, therefore it should be used in newly constructed high voltage lines above 110KV.
