Since the production of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) pipes, contracts have been quickly signed with large domestic mining enterprises in regions such as Yichun in Heilongjiang, Baotou in Inner Mongolia, Panzhihua in Sichuan, Qinghai, Hunan, and Hubei, with sales contracts exceeding 100 million yuan in just one year, laying a market foundation for the large-scale production of UHMWPE pipes. Among various pipeline materials used in mining, UHMWPE has a low friction coefficient, and its exceptionally long molecular chains provide wear resistance that is 4-7 times higher than that of steel and stainless steel pipes, and about 10 times higher than that of PVC and polyethylene pipes, significantly extending the service life of the pipelines. The resistance to material transport is low, ensuring the stability of power equipment usage and greatly reducing the failure rate of equipment. Additionally, due to their lighter weight, the construction difficulty and strength requirements are lower, resulting in lower costs. This is particularly advantageous in mountainous areas and under poor construction conditions.
Application of UHMWPE in the coal industry for mining and beneficiation:
In the coal industry, pipelines for transporting coal powder, ore powder, tailings, and slurry are mostly made of steel pipes. These media contain about 30% iron ore, leading to significant wear on steel pipes, which typically have a lifespan of 1-2 years. For transporting mixed solid-liquid mixtures in coal mining and beneficiation, there are tailings pipes, concentrate pipes, etc. The flotation feed, flotation concentrate, and heavy medium suspension generated during the coal selection process in coal preparation plants cause wear to steel pipes within just 16 months, leading to substantial annual maintenance costs. Using our mining pipes can effectively solve wear and corrosion issues, improve transportation efficiency, and save significant maintenance expenses.
