Tunnel Escape System Introduction:

A pipe escape system for tunnel construction accidents is set up at a certain distance from the excavation face of the construction tunnel, with a safety scaffold connected to one end of the escape pipe; typically, this distance is not more than 26 meters, and when using the step method for construction, it should not exceed 21 meters. The other end of the escape pipe is close to the secondary lining section of the construction tunnel.

The segments can be connected using metallic banded clamps with a diameter greater than that of the escape pipe, 22mm wide, temporarily fixed with bolts. 2. The construction site should prepare sufficient pipes and connecting materials based on the surrounding rock conditions and excavation methods, and in addition to complete pipe segments, should also prepare short segments of 1m, 2m, and 3m, as well as transition joints.

3. Tunnel escape pipes should be processed based on the material and actual site conditions, with simple, firm, and reliable connections, and temporary fixing measures should be taken on the ground. During construction, a temporary cover can be added to the pipe opening, which should be easy to open and close.

4. The tunnel escape pipe should use φ800mm socket type new tunnel escape pipes, with the starting point set at the end of the constructed secondary lining, and the distance from the secondary lining end should not exceed 5 meters. It should be arranged at an appropriate position within 20m from the excavation face, laid along one side of the initial support towards the excavation face, with a working rope reserved inside the pipe for easy escape, rescue, communication, and transportation of various items. The longitudinal connection of the socket type new tunnel escape pipe can use chains or other measures to prevent it from being displaced during a collapse.

5. During the movement of the secondary lining trolley, the tunnel escape pipes should be dismantled section by section during temporary removal; it is strictly prohibited to remove multiple sections at once to ensure the functionality of the tunnel escape pipes at all times.

6. When the tunnel escape pipe passes through the excavation steps, it should be arranged according to the step sequence, and the installation of 135° transition joints should follow the sequence. The height and length of the pipe should not interfere with construction and should facilitate the opening of the escape window.

7. The installed tunnel escape pipes should be flat, dry, and smooth, and should not be used for purposes other than emergency escape.

8. The laying length of the tunnel escape pipes should be 100m.
