All-dielectric self-supporting optical cable (ADSS) ADSS optical cable adopts a loose-tube stranded structure, with 250 μm optical fibers housed in loose tubes made of high-modulus materials, and the loose tubes are filled with waterproof compounds. The loose tubes (and filling rope) are wrapped around a non-metallic central strength member (FRP), twisted into a compact cable core, and the gaps in the cable core are filled with water-blocking gel. The outer layer of the cable core is extruded with a PE inner sheath, which is then twisted with aramid for reinforcement, and finally extruded with a PE outer sheath or an anti-arc (AT) outer sheath.
