The packaging technology for grass silage is currently the most advanced silage technology. "Baling and wrapping" refers to the process of crushing harvested corn stalks, fresh forage, and other green plants, then using a baler to compress and wrap them tightly, followed by wrapping them with silage plastic stretch film. The bales produced through this baling and wrapping process are placed in a sealed fermentation environment. Under anaerobic conditions, the biochemical process of lactic acid fermentation is completed in 3 to 6 weeks. The finished product has an increased crude protein content, a reduced pH value, and an increased soluble total sugar content, leading to improved livestock feed intake.
Grass silage film is a functional film that helps retain the nutritional components of plants such as grass, corn, grains, and vegetables while preventing mold growth. This film can be used directly as packaging for the aforementioned plants or pre-made into bags for packaging. It can also serve as a covering film for fresh grass, hay, and grains.
As an advanced packaging product for silage feed technology, grass silage film has been widely used in Europe, America, Australia, and other regions for over a decade, and our company has introduced advanced multi-layer co-extrusion blown film production lines from Germany. The grass film we develop and produce uses imported linear low-density polyethylene and metallocene polyethylene as the main raw materials, processed through a unique formula and technology into a five-layer co-extruded blown film.
Grass silage film is typically available in three colors: white, black, and green.

Advantages of grass silage film:
1. Low cost, quick results, and high overall benefits.
2. High quality of silage feed. The good sealing of the stretch film enhances the anaerobic fermentation environment for lactic acid bacteria, improving the nutritional value of the feed, resulting in high crude protein content, low crude fiber content, high digestibility, good palatability, and an aromatic smell, significantly enhancing the quality and yield of livestock meat and milk.
3. Minimal loss and waste; spoilage and feeding losses are greatly reduced. Traditional silage losses can reach 20%-30%.
4. Long storage and freshness period. With good compaction and sealing, it is unaffected by seasons, sunlight, rainfall, or groundwater levels, and can be stored outdoors for 2-3 years or more.
5. Convenient storage and easy feeding.
6. Environmentally friendly and pollution-free. Due to good sealing performance, there is no leakage of liquid. The packaging is appropriately sized, compact, and high-density, making it easy to transport and commercialize, ensuring a balanced supply and year-round use of modern livestock silage feed for large, medium, and small dairy farms, beef cattle farms, goat farms, and other farmers.
Characteristics of Salit grass silage film:
1. Excellent mechanical properties.
2. Protection level of up to 180KLY, stable prevention of damage caused by sunlight, especially ultraviolet rays, ensuring low light transmission and preventing heat accumulation.
3. Consistent quality and thickness, with a good thickness distribution of 25 microns across the film.
4. Good stretch performance (even in warm weather and cold winters).
5. No holes present when stretched.
6. Good adhesion sealing between layers.
7. Strong puncture resistance and excellent impact resistance.
8. Maintains mechanical performance for over a year even when stored outdoors.
9. Good sealing that blocks oxygen, air, and moisture penetration.
10. High load retention (for packaging integrity).
11. Ensures customers benefit from high-quality film standards, including UV resistance, puncture resistance, adhesion, and stretch attributes (55-70%), as well as thickness.
12. Specified properties ensure the film performs well during the packaging process, protecting and conserving feed.
13. Specifically designed to save valuable time in packing efficiency and long-term performance for grass bales.
14. Grass silage film provides tightness in all three dimensions for grass bales—this means that the "grass bales" have more consistent strength and rigidity, allowing for much higher stacking of grass bales as they maintain their shape better.
