Steel Belt Corrugated Pipe Construction Specifications
1.Steel Belt Reinforced PE Spiral Corrugated Pipe
What is a steel belt corrugated pipe? It is a type of pipe material developed by referencing advanced metal-plastic composite technology, featuring a structure formed by the melting and composite winding of PE and steel belt. The product complies with the CJ/T225-2006 standard, with a wall structure comprising three layers: high-density polyethylene as the base, high-strength steel belt wound spirally as the reinforcement, and the integration of steel belt and polyethylene. It combines the flexibility of plastic pipes with the rigidity of metal pipes.
2. Characteristics of Steel Belt Corrugated Pipe
1. Large diameter, high strength, using U-shaped steel belt composite PE material, significantly improving ring stiffness without increasing costs. It has higher strength than winding pipes at the same weight, solving a series of problems such as heavy load. The advantages of large diameter steel belt pipes are more pronounced. Currently, our company produces pipes with a diameter of 300-3000mm, with ring stiffness above 12.5KN/M, lighter and stronger than cement pipes and other types of pipes.
2. Good pressure resistance and impact resistance, adaptable to any foundation.
3.Good economic performance , with large diameter, lower cost than plastic pipes of the same specification.
4.Good chemical resistance, with an external anti-corrosion layer, it will not be contaminated or corroded.
5.Good aging resistance, with a black outer wall that can resist ultraviolet rays and prevent aging.
6.Excellent drainage performance, smooth inner wall, low flow resistance, strong water conveyance ability.
3. Applications of Steel Belt Corrugated Pipe
1. It is also very suitable for transporting crude oil, mud, and other pipelines. It has excellent chemical resistance, and except for strong oxidizing acid liquids,
it can withstand various corrosive media within a certain temperature and concentration range.
2. In wastewater treatment plant leachate collection pipelines, industrial wastewater discharge pipelines, landfill leachate collection pipelines, highway drainage pipelines, municipal drainage and sewage networks, collection systems, seepage systems, seawater and rainwater transport pipelines, and agricultural irrigation water transport pipelines.
3. For railway and highway communication cables, optical cable protective pipes.
4. Ventilation, air supply, drainage, and mud transportation in mining sites.
4. Connection Methods for Steel Belt Corrugated Pipe:
1. Electric Heating Melt Band Connection
The electric heating melt band connection uses a specially made electric heating melt band. The body is polyethylene, with electric heating wires embedded in the inner surface of the melt band. After electrification, the electric heating melt connection shaft extrudes molten material, causing expansion and pressure formation. The polyethylene on both sides of the interface diffuses into one another. After turning off the power and allowing sufficient cooling to solidify, a reliable connection is formed.
2. Heat Shrink Sleeve (Band) Connection
Heat shrink sleeve (band) connection materials are polyethylene sleeves (bands) and reinforced fiber nets, which are cross-linked through electron accelerator radiation, then heated, expanded, and cooled to set, with heat melt adhesive applied to the inner wall. During the connection construction, the sleeve is placed at the joint of the pipes to be connected, and heated with a torch to cause the heat shrink sleeve (band) to shrink and the inner wall heat melt adhesive to bond, forming a sealed and leak-proof connection joint with certain strength.
3. Clamp with Sealing Band Connection
The clamp with sealing band connection uses split (i.e., consisting of two halves, large diameters can be formed by four quarters) metal clamps to encircle the outer circumference of the two pipes to be connected. The clamp has protrusions or curved edges to catch the adjacent protrusions, thus fixing the two pipe sections axially. A layer of elastic sealing band is added between the clamp and the pipe material, and elastic sealing blocks are plugged into the ends of the spiral groove joints of the steel belt reinforced polyethylene spiral corrugated pipe, relying on the clamping force of the clamp to compress the elastic sealing band and sealing blocks to achieve the sealing and leak-proof requirements.
4. Hot Melt Extrusion Welding
Extrusion welding uses a handheld welding extruder that melts polyethylene material to weld the polyethylene on both sides of the connection seam (the handheld welding unit is a small diameter extruder capable of melting and extruding the supplied polyethylene welding rods. Meanwhile, the polyethylene to be welded should be preheated with hot air).
