Construction Materials-Other Building Materials
PPR water pipes are one of the main materials for modern home decoration and construction. Due to their unique advantages and characteristics, they have gained favor from many consumers and manufacturers and are widely used in various applications. However, when purchasing PPR water pipes, many people may not know how to select them due to a lack of understanding. Therefore, the following is an introduction to the specifications and prices of PPR water pipes.
PPR Water Pipe Specifications and Price Introduction 1
Since their development, PPR water pipes have undergone multiple technological reforms. Their unique advantages have made them the main material in the construction water pipe industry today. So, what are the advantages of PPR water pipes? Compared to other types of pipes, PPR water pipes offer an excellent cost-performance ratio, are environmentally friendly and non-toxic, and do not accumulate dirt in the pipes over prolonged use. This ensures that the quality of the water flow is relatively safe. They can withstand high temperatures, are corrosion-resistant, have an extremely long service life, and are produced according to national standards, so there is no need to worry about their safety. Similarly, PPR water pipes are very cost-effective and reasonably priced.
PPR Water Pipe Specifications and Price Introduction 2
PPR water pipes, also known as three-type polypropylene, are a common type of water pipe used in home decoration. Compared to traditional water pipes, PPR water pipes have the advantages of energy efficiency, corrosion resistance, environmental friendliness, easy installation, a smooth inner surface that does not scale, and an extremely long service life. Therefore, they are widely used in construction sites, sewage pipelines, urban gas pipelines, and fluid transportation. With the continuous development of water pipes in recent years, the current stage of PPR water pipes has not come easily. The prices of PPR water pipes in the market are generally determined by their specifications.
PPR Water Pipe Specifications and Price Introduction 3
When discussing the prices of PPR water pipes, it is essential to first mention their specifications. Only by understanding the specifications of PPR water pipes can one choose a suitable price based on their size for installation as the main material. According to national standards, the main pipe diameters for PPR water pipes available in the market include 32, 20, 50, 75, 63, 25, 40, 110, and 160 mm. For home decoration, pipes around 20, 32, and 25 mm will suffice. The prices of PPR water pipes will vary according to these specifications, and the pricing is calculated per meter. For instance, if the diameter of the PPR water pipe is 20 mm, the price is approximately 24 yuan per meter.
PPR Water Pipe Specifications and Price Introduction 4
PPR water pipes are also classified into hot water pipes and cold water pipes. If the PPR water pipe is blue, it indicates that it is a cold water pipe, while a red PPR water pipe indicates that it is a hot water pipe. In addition to these two colors, there are other colors available. The reason for the various colors of PPR water pipes is that the manufacturers use different colored pellets during production, adding different color masterbatches in the process. Therefore, PPR water pipes can appear in white, gray, green, red, blue, and other colors. The color of PPR water pipes does not affect their price, which is still calculated based on specifications and cross-sectional area.

Convenience of PP Pipe in Daily Pipeline Applications
PPR Pipe Connection Methods
There are many types of connection methods for PPR pipes in the market, but different types have different connection types. The most commonly used method is the hot melt connection method. This method connects the pipe and the fittings once, and similar materials can easily connect pipes together. This method is relatively reliable. The tightness of the connections between the pipes is good, providing strong sealing and durability.
When connecting PP pipes, the dust and foreign objects adhering to the pipeline should first be removed. The pipe end should be inserted into the heating sleeve without rotation, reaching the predetermined depth. The fittings should be connected to the heating head for heating without rotation. When heated to a certain extent, remove the pipe and fittings from the heating sleeve and heating head, and quickly rotate them, applying force evenly to achieve the same depth. After the connection is completed, the pipes should be allowed to cool sufficiently before being handled.
As a new type of pipe material, PP-R pipes have the following performance characteristics:
1. Energy-saving: The production energy consumption of PP-R pipes is only 20% of that of steel pipes, and its thermal conductivity (0.2W/(M·K)) is only 1/200 that of steel pipes, which greatly reduces heat loss in hot water systems.
2. Corrosion-resistant, scale-free, hygienic, and non-toxic: Using PP-R pipes eliminates the "secondary pollution" caused by scaling and rusting from galvanized steel pipes. Because PP-R consists mainly of carbon and hydrogen, it complies with food hygiene regulations and is non-toxic, making it more suitable for drinking water transportation.
3. Heat-resistant, pressure-resistant, and long service life: The long-term use temperature of PP-R pipes can reach 95°C, and the short-term use temperature can reach 120°C. Under conditions of 70°C working temperature and 1.2 MPa working pressure, they can last for over 50 years of continuous use.
4. Lightweight, high strength, and low fluid resistance: The density of PP-R pipes is only 1/8 that of metal pipes, and their pressure resistance test strength can reach 5 MPa, with good toughness and impact resistance. Due to their smooth inner walls that do not rust or scale, they have low fluid resistance.
1. Non-toxic and hygienic.
The molecular composition of PP-R raw materials consists only of carbon and hydrogen elements, with no harmful or toxic elements present, making it hygienic and reliable. It is suitable for both hot and cold water pipelines and pure drinking water systems.
2. Thermal insulation and energy-saving.
The thermal conductivity of PP-R pipes is 0.21 W/m·K, only 1/200 that of steel pipes.
3. Good heat resistance.
The Vicat softening point of PP-R pipes is 131.5°C. The working temperature can reach 95°C, meeting the requirements for hot water systems in building drainage standards.
4. Long service life.
PP-R pipes can last over 50 years under working conditions of 70°C and 1.0 MPa pressure (P.N); at normal temperatures (20°C), they can last over 100 years.
5. Convenient installation and strong connections.
PP-R has good welding properties, and the pipes and fittings can be connected using hot melt and electric melt methods, making installation easy and ensuring that the connection points are stronger than the pipes themselves.
6. Recyclable materials.
PP-R waste can be cleaned, crushed, and reused in the production of pipes and fittings. The recycled material content does not exceed 10% of the total, ensuring no impact on product quality.
