What is a plastic template
Plastic templates are energy-saving and environmentally friendly products. They are a new generation product followingwood templates, composite steel templates, bamboo-wood laminated templates, and full steellarge templates. In fact, they are a new type of construction template designed to replace improved wood templates.
Plastic templates and wood templates: similarities and differences
The material of plastic templates is PVC. First of all, thePVC material is waterproof and flame-retardant, and there is no problem of deformation or decay when exposed to water as with wood templates. The only difference in usage compared to wood templates is that no release agent is needed. Due to the smooth and clean surface of the plastic templates, they do not collect dust, and the wall does not require a second plastering, thus reducing two processes compared to wood templates. Nailing, sawing, planing, and drilling are the same as wood templates, and the specifications are also identical. They can be produced to custom dimensions as per customer requirements and can be cut to any size. An important point is that plastic templates are fully recyclable, even the scraps can be reused.
Why is the usage rate of plastic templates still low after several years of development?
1. The first point is that the country has only recently begun to emphasize green building. The promotion of plastic templates has been weak in terms of policies, and the government has not introduced mandatory policies for using green and environmentally friendly building materials. However, at this year's 16 National People's Congress, Premier Li Keqiang pointed out in the government report that the country is actively promoting the construction of new urbanization. Many places are facing demolition and reconstruction, and there is a huge demand for building materials. Traditional building materials have issues such as high consumption, high energy use, and serious pollution, which can no longer meet market needs. Therefore, it is necessary to actively promote green buildings and building materials and vigorously develop the energy-saving and environmental protection industry, which is a great policy for environmentally friendly and energy-saving plastic templates.
2. The quality is uneven and poorly made. Although national standards were issued in 2013, the technology is still far from mature. To produce quality plastic templates, the costs will still be high. If the raw materials are compromised, it will lead to thermal expansion and contraction, brittleness in winter, and softness in summer for plastic templates, but there is not much visible difference in appearance. Currently, there are many very cheap plastic templates on the market. In my view, some prices are completely absurd, lower than our production costs. Don't tell me they have better formulas that lower costs significantly. Currently, plastic template formulas are still a complex issue, with cost differences of no more than 2% among different companies, and this is on the high side. If the price is low, it can only indicate one thing: cutting corners, and quality problems are inevitable. With current technology, low prices absolutely mean low quality; there are no other possibilities.
3. Low acceptance among carpenters and builders. Each time a new improved product is launched, some people will hesitate and see how other builders use it. The early adopters are always a minority. If policies are not fully implemented, the number of builders using it will still be small. Secondly, carpenters earn money based on work progress. They are used to wood templates; suddenly switching to another product will take some adjustment. In the beginning, they will definitely be uncomfortable and resistant. There was a serious incident at a construction site we worked on where a group of workers went on strike because plastic templates were not used at all. The project department was quite authoritarian and directly replaced the carpenters, which solved the issue.
Our product positioning: only high-quality high-rise buildings with standard layers.
Usage status of the Zhengzhou Blue Treasure Bay construction site
Why do so many companies choose to use Linyi plastic templates?
1. Cooperating clients at home and abroad have reached hundreds, exporting to multiple countries and regions.
2. Production scale and supply capacity exceed peers by 3 times.
3. Delivered to the customer's construction site within three days.
4. Customization according to customer requirements is available.
5. Can save 10% more costs than peers.
Linyi plastic templates' quality advantages
1. Engaged in the plastic chemical industry for thirty years, holding multiple patents, and has developed a third-generation improved plastic template that has been on the market for two years.
2. Each batch of plastic templates undergoes a series of tests, including elastic modulus, Vicat temperature, impact strength, nail holding force, etc., and will only be shipped after passing the tests.
3. Strength: The self-developed formula for plastic templates effectively maintains the strength and toughness of the product, reducing the damage rate during violent disassembly by workers, with an average usage frequency 3 to 5 times more than peers.
4. Temperature resistance: High-temperature-resistant plastic additives are used for modification, making plastic templates exceed national standards by 10 degrees in temperature resistance.
5. High extrusion temperature, resulting in a smoother and harder surface for the plastic templates.
How plastic templates save 50% in costs
A previous case was the Zhengzhou China State Construction Seventh Engineering Division Guanhua International project. At the time of signing the contract, the budget was over 3 million, which was based on the budget for wood templates. However, after the floors were capped, only over 1 million was used, achieving a budget saving of over 50%.
To save costs, the main point is that the product must meet standards. If the product is substandard, as long as it does not exceed the budget, it will be a blessing; do not think about saving costs and just use wood templates honestly.
Secondly, construction management at the site is important. Since plastic templates are a new product, some carpenters have not used them before. Compared to wood templates, plastic templates may also be heavier, which workers are not fond of. If they dislike using them, they will express resistance and criticize the product. We have encountered these issues, and these comments sound familiar, as similar situations occurred when wood templates were promoted. The promotion of new products will inevitably have a transitional period, but it is an inevitable trend. If the construction site insists on using them, they will have no issues.
Another significant issue is waste, which is also related to construction management. Sometimes, some plastic templates can still be used, but workers prefer new boards and are unwilling to use the old ones, leading to significant waste. The management method of China State Construction Seventh Bureau is very good; they make two buildings use plastic templates simultaneously, then compare the two sides to see which wastes more. If there is a significant difference, it indicates that one side is not doing well, and they can directly address the labor issues and find a solution. With this comparison, workers will be more careful during usage, as they will be concerned about excessive waste. Thus, by the end of the two buildings, the cost savings directly reached over 50%.
Many people ask me how many times plastic templates can be recycled? This question is difficult to answer because the number of cycles directly relates to the construction team's usage. If used normally and with wear, 30 times is definitely possible, and 50 times can also be achieved, depending on how you use them. However, if they are thrown around or mishandled, I cannot guarantee the number. Therefore, the premise for 30 cycles must be normal use wear, not reckless waste.
Therefore, to save over 50% of the budget, the first step is the product, and the second is management.
