HDPE drainage pipes must withstand certain pressures, and typically high molecular weight, mechanically robust PE resins, such as HDPE resin, should be selected. LDPE resin has low tensile strength, poor pressure resistance, low rigidity, poor dimensional stability during processing, and is difficult to connect, making it unsuitable as a material for water supply pressure pipes. However, due to its high sanitary standards, LDPE, especially LLDPE resin, has become a commonly used material for producing drinking water pipes. LDPE and LLDPE resins have low melt viscosity, good flow properties, and are easy to process, resulting in a wide selection range for their melt index, typically between MI of 0.3-3g/10min.

Physical Properties of HDPE Drainage Pipe:
HDPE drainage pipes are made of polyethylene, which can be considered transparent in film form, but opaque in bulk due to strong light scattering caused by a significant amount of crystalline material within. The degree of crystallinity of polyethylene is influenced by the number of branches; the more branches, the harder it is to crystallize. The melting temperature of polyethylene crystals is also affected by the number of branches, typically ranging from 90 degrees Celsius to 130 degrees Celsius; the more branches, the lower the melting temperature. Polyethylene single crystals can usually be prepared by dissolving high-density polyethylene in an environment above 130 degrees Celsius.
