However, due to its high sanitary indicators, LDPE, especially LLDPE resin, has become a commonly used material for producing drinking water pipes. LDPE and LLDPE resins have low melt viscosity, good flowability, and are easy to process, thus providing a wide range for selecting their melt index, usually between 0.3-3g/10min.

The degree of crystallization of polyethylene is influenced by the number of branches; the more branches there are, the more difficult it is to crystallize. The melting temperature of polyethylene crystals is also affected by the number of branches, ranging from 90 degrees Celsius to 130 degrees Celsius, with a lower melting temperature for more branches. Polyethylene single crystals can typically be prepared by dissolving high-density polyethylene in an environment above 130 degrees Celsius.
