Zhongsha Gulei: 600,000 Tons/Year Metallocene Linear Low-Density Polyethylene/High-Density Polyethylene Unit Hoisted

The net weight of the equipment being hoisted is 338.5 tons, with a total lifting weight of 376.32 tons. The foundation's top elevation is 69.85 meters, and both the construction difficulty and technical requirements are at the top level in the industry.
"In all things, success depends on previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure." Faced with such a colossal hoisting task, several months before the implementation of the hoisting operation, the project supervision department, in conjunction with the construction unit, the general contractor, and the hoisting company, began meticulous and detailed preparations. Multiple joint reviews were conducted on the "Special Construction Plan for Large Equipment Hoisting," with a focus on crucial aspects such as crane positioning, foundation treatment, lifting lug design and verification, tailing process, aerial posture adjustment, and emergency plans, all of which were repeatedly evaluated and optimized. The plan ultimately determined the use of the "dual crane lifting and delivery method," with the main crane being an exceptional 1350-ton crawler crane responsible for the primary lifting and positioning of the equipment. The tailing crane, a 400-ton crawler crane, collaboratively completes the lifting and delivery process. The supervision department strictly required expert validation and provided detailed safety technical and operational procedure briefings to all participants to ensure that each operator clearly understands their responsibilities and is familiar with the procedures.
To ensure the success of the construction on the first attempt, the supervision personnel arrived at the site early on the day of the hoisting. They conducted a comprehensive inspection of the hoisting equipment, reviewing the performance qualification certificates and daily inspection records of the main crane (1350 tons) and the tail crane (400 tons). They verified the specifications, models, and inspection certificates of the lifting slings and shackles one by one to ensure their rated loads met safety requirements. The final re-measurement of the centerline, elevation, and anchor bolt positions of the equipment foundation was conducted. Project director He Jiping participated in the safety and technical disclosure of the construction unit on-site, emphasizing important requirements at key points. Everyone worked together to ensure that all preparatory work was implemented and in optimal condition.

On October 9th, at 9:30 AM, everything was ready. With a command from the site commander, the hoisting operation began on time. The giant crane slowly lifted the product purification chamber, which ascended steadily under the pull of steel cables. Throughout the four-hour hoisting process, the supervising personnel provided full oversight. We closely monitored the load display of the main crane to ensure it remained within the safe range of its rated load; we tracked the amplitude and rotation angle of the crane arm to prevent any interference; and we paid close attention to the equipment's hoisting posture to ensure coordinated, synchronized, and smooth movements between the tailing crane and the main crane. Particularly during the critical phase when the equipment transitioned from horizontal to vertical, the supervising engineer maintained close communication with the hoisting commander to ensure instructions were clear and executed properly.
As the equipment slowly approached the 69.85-meter-high foundation, the operation entered the phase that tested the precision of the operation the most. Under the precise coordination of the command personnel, the massive equipment was finely adjusted in the air and ultimately achieved perfect alignment with the foundation anchor bolts. On-site measurements showed that all indicators such as the equipment's positioning coordinates and verticality fully met the design and specification requirements, achieving the hoisting goals of "stability, accuracy, and excellence." The entire hoisting process occurred without any incidents, demonstrating the construction unit's superb technical skills and the supervisory team's rigorous work ethic!

This successful practice has accumulated valuable management experience in the lifting of large equipment for the project, laying a solid foundation for the timely and high-quality commissioning of the entire project. As the project supervision party, we feel honored to fulfill our supervisory responsibilities in such a high-standard and demanding project, and we are deeply proud of the successful achievement of this significant milestone!
In the future, the Project Supervision Department will continue to uphold the core values of "Integrity, Responsibility, Dedication, and Shared Prosperity," with a high sense of responsibility and professionalism, to ensure the successful completion of the project. We will work hand in hand with all parties to create exemplary and safe projects!
