Xiaomi yu7 equipped with triple redundant door handles: Unlock and Open Even in Extreme Scenarios
On June 12, Fast Technology reported that Xiaomi Automobile announced the safety details of the YU7 series, which all feature triple redundancy door handles, ensuring that the doors can still be opened normally even in extreme situations.
In the latest episode of Xiaomi Auto's Q&A with netizens (Episode 255), the official returned to...How is the safety of the new YU7 standard version, and are there any differences in other configurations?“this issue.”
Many new energy vehicles now use hidden door handles. Many car owners worry that in the event of an accident and a power failure, the doors may not be able to be opened, affecting escape.
In response to this issue, Xiaomi has put a lot of effort into the lock structure of the YU7, and this safety feature is standard across all models, regardless of high or low versions.
Officials stated that,The entire Xiaomi YU7 lineup is equipped with triple-redundant door handles, featuring a built-in mechanical cable mechanism and a separate backup power supply for the door locks. Even in extreme scenarios where both the high-voltage battery and the low-voltage battery lose power, the doors can still be unlocked via the center control and opened mechanically.
For drivers and passengers, whether the doors can be opened smoothly is crucial for escaping in an accident. The triple-redundancy door handle design alleviates safety concerns about concealed door handles.
In terms of passive safety, all Xiaomi YU7 models feature the same armored cage body structure, with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy accounting for as much as 90.2%. They are equipped with 2200 MPa Xiaomi ultra-high-strength steel, used in the built-in roll cage and the anti-collision beams in all four doors, effectively enhancing protection in scenarios such as underride impacts, rollovers, and side collisions.
In terms of safety assistance, the Xiaomi YU7 comes standard across the entire lineup with LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and an NVIDIA Thor chip with 700 TOPS of computing power. All variants are also equipped with 25 safety assistance features, including AEB collision avoidance assist, AES emergency steering assist, MAI unintended acceleration suppression assist, and LCP lateral collision prevention assist, to enhance the vehicle’s ability to respond in extreme scenarios.
In terms of battery safety, the Xiaomi YU7 series is equipped with a 1500MPa scratch-resistant bottom beam and a battery ballistic coating, effectively reducing the risk of battery damage when the vehicle's underside is scraped.
