Who Is Snatching Up the Leopard? Hear What Frontline Sales Have to Say About the Two-Month Wait for Delivery
From being a favorite among "off-road enthusiasts" in the past to now being sought after by mainstream users, Fangcheng Leopard achieved this with just one Titanium series. So, who exactly are the users buying Fangcheng Leopard? And why are they choosing it? Today, we invited a top sales consultant to discuss why the "internet-famous brand" Fangcheng Leopard has become popular at the retail level.
Hello everyone, I'm Da Liu. Since the launch of the Titanium 3 and Titanium 7, the popularity of our store has surged, and even some internet celebrities have come specifically to shoot videos here. Today, let's talk about the sales situation of the Fangcheng Leopard series.
How is the situation at the store?
Although there are three city showrooms and dealerships in our area, our store has some geographical advantages, being located on a major traffic route that is always congested during rush hours. There are also some large commercial centers and residential areas with high foot traffic nearby.
Since the launch of the Ti3, the number of people has noticeably increased. From Monday to Friday, we have about 15 customers visiting the store each day, and there are even more on the weekends. Approximately 70% of these are high-intention potential customers, while the remaining 30% might be visiting nearby shops or just strolling around the area. Even though they may not be buying, they are attracted by the design and enjoy coming in for a look.
Some internet celebrities actively visit stores, primarily targeting Titanium 3, and most of their posts are concentrated on the Xiaohongshu platform.
What products is user 02 interested in?
Mainly here to look at Titanium 3 and Titanium 7.
Many people have noticed the "square box" design and have come to take a look at the Leopard 5 and Leopard 8.
What is the current status of the order?
Our store started selling the Titanium 7 on September 10th, and so far, we have received 42 major orders.
There should be about 100 potential customers left, all with strong intentions. Many of them have already ordered other cars and are trying to cancel or switch from sedans or other brands. There are approximately 100 orders from customers.
Now, the number of orders is steadily increasing by 7 to 8 per day.
How is the delivery situation for 04?
We started concentrated deliveries around the day before yesterday, and the first batch of 25 vehicles has basically been delivered.
The second batch of car orders is also around 25 units, and we are currently in the process of contacting customers for payment and delivery.
Currently, the delivery situation for the Titanium 3 is better, as production capacity is ready. However, the delivery of the Titanium 7 is more problematic, and the production capacity is undergoing a ramp-up process. Generally, the wait time for a car can be from 4 to 8 weeks, and some color options may not be available for delivery until mid-November.
Which version is more popular? Are there any policies?
The Titanium 7 is currently available in only one top configuration version, which is the 190KM AWD Ultra version with LiDAR, priced at 219,800 yuan. Our store is a direct-sale store and strictly adheres to the manufacturer's policy. If you opt for a trade-in, there will be an additional subsidy of five to six thousand yuan. Other policies are basically what everyone can see.
We are currently offering limited-time gifts such as the "Titanium Upgrade Gift," which includes front and rear seat massage, electrically adjustable rear seats, and a leg rest for the front passenger seat. The "Titanium Technology Gift" includes a charging pile, zero-pressure cloud headrest, and V2L discharge device. Additionally, the "Titanium Delivery Gift" includes the rear BYD Pad set. Some of these offers end at the end of October this year, while others are available until the end of the year.
The more popular version of the Ti3 is the all-wheel-drive model priced at 163,800 RMB (501KM AWD Ultra Intelligent Driving version), with its dual motors offering an appealing 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds. Additionally, some people are drawn to the entry-level version, comparing the Ti3 with models like the Yuan and Geely Xingyuan. Although it is indeed two to three thousand RMB more expensive, it offers more emotional value, leading them to ultimately choose the Ti3.
The policy has basically been synchronized all along, and we still recommend replacement. Taking into account the subsidies, it's quite cost-effective. Our offer for the residual value is quite good, with some users reporting that it's higher than that offered by some third-party dealers, and there's also some additional subsidies.
What kind of people are buying?
More people are indeed watching Leopard 5 and Leopard 8 than before, but the main focus is still on Titanium 3 and Titanium 7.
The buyers of the Taycan 7 are relatively consistent. They are either those who previously drove "fuel cars" and were accustomed to the rhythm of using them and want to try new energy vehicles, or those who have always been interested in new forces in the industry.
They are relatively young and enjoy making comparisons, paying more attention to appearance. Whether the vehicle is truly capable of off-roading seems to be of less concern. The main attraction is the "boxy" look, which is impressive. Those who are serious about off-roading tend to have a clear goal and look at models like the Leopard 5 or Leopard 8.
The audience for buying Titanium 3 is relatively broad, with a wide age range and quite a severe polarization.
Surprisingly, many couples from the 60s who have switched from gasoline vehicles choose it, as well as some common young couples and young people with pets.
People considering the 07 Titanium-3 and Titanium-7 models will compare them with which cars? What are the reasons for their final choice?
Choosing the T7 is quite unusual, as it is not often compared to hardcore off-road vehicles. Instead, it is usually compared to several models from Jetour and some urbanized new energy vehicles, such as the AITO M7 and Li Auto L6.
The main reason customers choose it is because the design is indeed quite attractive. The luxury and intelligence of the interior are also decent. After trying the Eye of the Sky-B, it received quite high evaluations. Additionally, BYD has gained a significant reputation in the past two years, and customers trust its brand for technology and quality. Most importantly, the price is affordable, and there are many giveaways included. In contrast, other more expensive competitors seem to require additional options.
Choose Ti3, there are comparisons with Yuan and Xingyuan, as well as comparisons with iCAR.
Currently, there are very few electric "box-shaped" cars in this price range, and with the current "free green license plate" policy, there are only two such cars. The overall interior design of this car is quite popular among young users, and it includes some clever features that appeal to sensitive and emotional users. For instance, besides the front trunk and rear trunk, there is also a small backpack, which is perfect for young couples to organize their belongings.
Some extreme examples are like that elderly couple who barely compared options; they just wanted to try something new, like an electric vehicle. The cost of trial and error wasn't high, and they wanted something unique, so they went for it.
Compared to Yuan and Xingyuan, the main reasons for purchase are still appearance and emotional value. One is a "square box," the other is "not very noticeable." Generally, if customers feel they can afford something a bit more expensive, they buy it. One customer said that being cool is a lifelong affair.
How is the income in August? Is there a lot of pressure to sell cars? Is there a serious amount of overtime?
In terms of income, I can only say that I can get by, but what I can say is that selling a Tai7 car earns a commission of 600 yuan. Fortunately, the base salary is a bit higher, well above the minimum wage standard.
Commissions in our industry should be considered low. I've heard of commissions of 5000 or 4000 yuan per car, which can't compare to ours on a per-car basis. We mainly rely on volume. There are just a few people in the store, and there are several orders a day. After splitting them evenly, it's still quite decent.
The pressure of selling cars is manageable, and I generally don't work overtime now. Usually, people just come in to browse, and some are interested in chatting further. Others come directly to the store for a test drive, and these cases usually result in successful sales.
Working overtime in sales is normal. If a client messages me, can I say I won't reply after work? Definitely not. Responding to messages does happen, but staying in the store to work overtime is rare and happens only occasionally.
