On March 25th, in the production workshop of the high-end TPU film new material project with an annual output of 10 million square meters located in the Tanghuai Electronic and Equipment Manufacturing Park of the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, a busy scene unfolded. Staff members were diligently working at their respective positions. Since the trial production began three months ago, the two production lines of the project have been operating smoothly, producing more than 20,000 meters of TPU film each day.

The high-end TPU film new material project with an annual production capacity of 10 million square meters is constructed by Shanxi Zhichuang New Material Technology Co., Ltd. It covers an area of 26 acres and consists of three structures, with a total construction area of 35,000 square meters and a total investment of 220 million yuan. The project primarily produces TPU films such as automotive paint protection films and architectural films. Upon reaching full production capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 200 million yuan.

The site project manager introduced that, in addition to the two production lines currently in trial production, there are two more production lines about to begin trial production. Once all four production lines are operational, they can produce approximately 40,000 meters of TPU film per day. This product is primarily used for making transparent car wraps, and the production process includes feeding, drying, laminating, cooling, inspecting, and rewinding. The standard width is 1560 mm, but if customers have special requirements, it can be adjusted to 1558 mm or 1556 mm. Each side has a protective film, one layer being a transparent base film and the other being a matte base film. In addition to providing protection, the matte base film also has an exhaust function to ensure that there are no air bubbles when the product is rolled up. Every quality control step is strictly enforced, with the inspection machine equipped with a 16K camera, and six lenses that display the product status in real-time on a large screen through transmission, reflection, and refraction. Dedicated personnel conduct inspections, closely coordinating manual and equipment checks to maximize product quality.

High-end TPU film

TPU film, or thermoplastic polyurethane film, is a new type of material with outstanding performance. It possesses high strength, high elasticity, wear resistance, oil resistance, solvent resistance, and low-temperature resistance. It is washable and can maintain good performance even in environments as low as -30°C. With its lightweight and soft texture, it is widely used in various fields such as footwear, apparel, automotive, and construction. Among these applications, TPU films used for automotive paint protection and building membranes can effectively resist daily scratches, stone impacts, UV erosion, and more, protecting the paint and surfaces of buildings, extending their service life, and enhancing their aesthetic appeal.

High-end TPU film is a high-performance new material primarily made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) through specific processes. It boasts extremely excellent physical properties, with tensile strength reaching several dozen megapascals and elongation at break able to reach several hundred percent. It combines high strength and high elasticity, maintaining integrity under significant external force while quickly recovering. It is often used in high-end sports shoes for providing comfort, a snug fit, and good support. In terms of chemical stability, it resists oil, solvents, and common chemicals, exhibiting stable properties in complex chemical environments. For example, seal materials around car engines can withstand the erosion of engine oil and coolant. Its weather resistance is also remarkable, with UV resistance and the ability to withstand temperatures as low as -30°C or even lower, remaining flexible in extremely cold conditions. It is widely used in outdoor architectural films and protective films for polar expedition equipment. Its processing performance is excellent, capable of being formed through casting, blow molding, extrusion, and other processes. It also easily integrates with other materials, such as paint protection films for cars, which are combined with pressure-sensitive adhesives. Additionally, TPU materials are non-toxic and odorless, producing no pollution during production and use, aligning with environmental concepts. They have broad application prospects in food packaging and medical supplies, such as food preservation films and outer films for medical protective gear.
