On August 27, Sunwoda released its semi-annual report for 2025, with operating revenue of 26.985 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.82%; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 856 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.88%.

In terms of product categories, in the first half of 2025, the consumer battery business achieved a revenue of 13.89 billion yuan, an increase of 5.22% year-on-year; the electric vehicle battery business achieved a revenue of 7.604 billion yuan, an increase of 22.63% year-on-year; the energy storage system business achieved a revenue of 1.004 billion yuan, an increase of 68.85% year-on-year; and other businesses achieved a revenue of 4.486 billion yuan, an increase of 14.39% year-on-year.

On August 27, Sunwoda stated in a conference call that the main reasons for the rapid year-on-year growth in power battery shipments in the first half of 2025 are the increase in shipments to existing customers and the gradual ramp-up of newly confirmed customers.

In the field of product development, Sunwoda adheres to a “focus and differentiation” strategy, with products comprehensively covering the two mainstream application markets of power and energy storage.

In terms of power batteries, the company focuses on square aluminum shell batteries while actively expanding into large cylindrical batteries and pouch cell products. This is to meet the demands of various application scenarios such as high power, ultra-fast charging, long lifespan, long range, and wide temperature range.

On the technical front, Sunwoda has continuously increased its investment in advanced technology research and development, creating a system integration solution that combines the advantages of CTP, CTB, and CTC. This solution supports both upright and inverted cell designs, offering high flexibility to fully meet the diverse needs of end customers. Additionally, Sunwoda has built a multi-source heterogeneous data integration platform, achieving technological breakthroughs in core areas such as electrochemical systems, structural topology, and material selection through the dual drive of mechanistic models and machine learning.

In terms of cutting-edge technology, Sunwoda continues to invest and develop advanced battery products such as silicon anode high-energy batteries, solid-state batteries, lithium manganese iron phosphate batteries, and sodium-ion batteries to meet the future diversified needs of end customers.

It is worth noting that Sunwoda also mentioned that the company's first-generation semi-solid-state battery has been developed with an energy density of over 300 Wh/kg; pilot testing of cell samples for the second-generation semi-solid-state battery has already begun; and the third-generation all-solid-state battery has completed the 400 Wh/kg product design and process validation.

In recent years, the market demand for high-performance batteries has been increasing. As a "star" of next-generation battery technology, the solid-state battery sector has attracted substantial capital and technological investment, with its commercialization process continuously accelerating.

According to reports, Sunwoda has been researching and developing solid-state batteries since 2015, and has planned the first generation of 400Wh/kg and the second generation of 500Wh/kg all-solid-state batteries. These batteries use sulfide solid electrolytes, paired with high-nickel cathodes and silicon-based anodes/lithium metal anodes.

Previously, Sunwoda had already revealed its mass production timeline for solid-state batteries: the company plans to launch its first-generation all-solid-state battery products in 2026, and its second-generation all-solid-state battery products in 2027.
