STEER Tech and HEVO Launch World's First Wireless Autonomous Charging Solution
On August 14, HEVO, a developer of wireless charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and STEER Tech, a company specializing in high-precision autonomous driving technology for fleet garages, announced the establishment of a milestone partnership to jointly create the world's first fully integrated wireless autonomous driving charging solution.

This collaboration will combine HEVO's patented wireless charging platform with STEER's mature autonomous driving software, enabling commercial fleets to achieve end-to-end unmanned vehicle navigation, docking, and wireless charging without human intervention.
"This collaboration brings together two breakthrough technologies, redefining what's possible for fleet electrification," said Jeremy McCool, CEO and Chairman of HEVO. "Just as Wi-Fi freed computers from cables, our integrated solution frees fleets from the labor and downtime of manual charging. By partnering with STEER, we are filling the missing link on the path to fully automated garages."
By combining STEER's precise autonomous driving platform with HEVO's wireless charging technology, fleets will gain powerful operational advantages: the ability to autonomously navigate vehicles through complex garages, perform low-speed precise maneuvers, seamlessly dock on wireless charging pads, and charge without any manual intervention. This innovation eliminates one of the biggest obstacles to fleet electrification—manual charging logistics—while reducing labor costs and maximizing vehicle uptime.
STEER Tech brings nearly a decade of expertise in autonomous vehicles to this collaboration. Their technology is designed for high-precision garage operations, including autonomous navigation, parking, docking, exiting, and charging positioning in busy and space-constrained sites. STEER's platform also offers a broad ecosystem integrated with garage management systems, telematics, and fleet orchestration tools.
Dr. Anuja Sonalker, founder and CEO of STEER Tech, stated, "We are excited to collaborate with HEVO to accelerate the future development of autonomous fleet operations. When vehicles can drive and charge autonomously with precision, fleet garages will become fully autonomous ecosystems, thereby reducing friction, improving efficiency, and delivering significant returns on investment for our customers."
The first integrated vehicle will be the Ford E-Transit, which is already equipped with STEER's autonomous driving technology and will be paired with HEVO's wireless charging system at HEVO's headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. Integration work will commence immediately, with a public demonstration planned for the fall of 2025, where it will also be showcased with leading logistics partners.
