Signing of 2×114,000 Nm3/h Air Separation Units for 800,000 Tons/Year Coal-to-Olefins Project

Recently, Hangzhou Oxygen Plant Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Xinjiang Dongming Plastic Co., Ltd. for the 2×114,000 Nm³/h air separation units for the 800,000 tons/year coal-to-olefins project in the Modern Coal Chemical Industry Demonstration Zone of the Zhungeer Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is the largest single air separation unit scale in Xinjiang.

Additionally, Hangzhou Oxygen Plant Group Co., Ltd. has been deeply involved in the construction of energy and chemical projects in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In the first three quarters before 2025, it has successively signed contracts for the supply of multiple air separation units with Xinjiang Zhunneng Chemical Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Shanneng Chemical Co., Ltd., Zhongrong New Energy (Kekedala) Co., Ltd., Guoneng Xinjiang Coal-to-Gas Co., Ltd., and China National Petroleum Corporation Tarim Oilfield. The total oxygen production capacity has exceeded one million cubic meters. Currently, each project is progressing in an orderly manner.

Xinjiang Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.'s 90,000-level air separation project has entered the installation phase.

These collaborations fully demonstrate the market's high recognition of Hangyang's capabilities in technology development, equipment manufacturing, and project delivery, further consolidating Hangyang's absolute leading position in air separation equipment, especially in the field of ultra-large air separation.

Total investment: The total investment of the project is 1,896,744,000 yuan (including foreign exchange of 37,835,000 USD), of which the construction investment is 1,755,881,000 yuan (including foreign exchange of 37,835,000 USD).

Construction scale: Use coal as a raw material to produce methanol, which is then processed through an MTO unit and olefin separation to produce polymer-grade ethylene and propylene. The polymer-grade ethylene and propylene are partially sent to PP polymerization and PE polymerization to produce polyolefin products, and partially sent to an EPDM rubber unit to produce EPDM rubber. The project includes supporting facilities for 2.2 million tons per annum methanol (pure) (including air separation, gasification, conversion, and purification), 800,000 tons per annum methanol-to-olefins (including olefin separation), 400,000 tons per annum polypropylene, and 400,000 tons per annum polyethylene. In addition to the main products PP, PE, and EPDM rubber, the unit also co-produces by-products such as sulfur, liquefied petroleum gas, and heavy C4+.
