Recently, Schaeffler has achieved a significant breakthrough in the field of e-mobility—the mass production of its 900V silicon carbide power module inverter brick and 48V P2 transmission-integrated electric motor products has officially commenced at its Tianjin plant. The simultaneous achievement of key milestones in both projects marks a new stage in the company’s localization of manufacturing and technological innovation for core e-drive components.

It is reported that the first 900V silicon carbide power module inverter brick globally from Schaeffler is now mass-produced in Tianjin. This product features an innovative highly integrated design: by integrating the "900V power module + bus capacitor + boost capacitor through injection molding," it effectively enhances the power density of the electric drive system, achieving the triple advantages of "small size, high power, and low cost," providing customers with a robust solution for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

In terms of core performance, the silicon carbide technology of this inverter brick showcases industry-leading capabilities: not only does it have an ultra-high output capacity of ≥650Arms, but it also achieves a superior maximum efficiency of 99.5%. The breakthroughs in these two key performance indicators are not merely technical parameter enhancements but can directly translate into substantial optimizations of vehicle performance—from acceleration response to range, from energy loss to heat dissipation efficiency—helping new energy vehicles achieve an upgraded experience of "stronger power, lower energy consumption."

In addition, relying on the high adaptability of modular design, this inverter brick can be expanded on demand to different levels of integration and customized in structure to accurately match the diverse spatial layout requirements of electric drive systems.

The 48V P2 transmission integrated motor is a product jointly developed by Schaeffler’s R&D teams in Germany, Shanghai, and Tianjin, leveraging their combined technical strengths to meet the electrification development stage and demands of the European market. It aims to support overseas customers in their electrification transformation. Reportedly, the 48V motor controller adopts PCB embedded chip technology, which not only saves PCB space but also effectively reduces the thermal resistance of power devices, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the motor system.

Taosle, CEO of Schaeffler Group's e-mobility division, stated: "The two mass-produced products are innovative solutions offered by Schaeffler for different levels of electrification, further expanding Schaeffler's product lineup in the e-mobility field to meet diverse market demands. Amid the global electrification wave, Schaeffler will continue to focus on both the Chinese and global markets, providing customers with solutions that combine performance and cost advantages."
