Production Capacity of Long-Chain Nylon and Copolymers Doubled! NYCOA Officially Launches Third Specialty Nylon Reactor
October 8, 2025, leading engineering The resin manufacturer NYCOA announced that its headquarters production facility in Manchester, New Hampshire, has officially launched a third specialty nylon reactor. This brand-new polymerization line is expected to double NYCOA's production capacity for long-chain nylon and copolymers.
This capacity expansion is an important milestone in NYCOA's multi-stage development strategy for specialty nylon. Since 1957, NYCOA has been dedicated to providing nylon 6, copolymers, and modified materials for wire and cable and monofilament extrusion. The company is currently undergoing a growth transformation to elevate its material development and manufacturing technology to a new level. The new capacity is a complement to the continuous production expansion of nylon 6 at the Manchester manufacturing site, ensuring that specialty long-chain nylon will be supplied to a range of markets including transportation, industrial, and sporting goods in the future. The final phase of this capacity expansion strategy—the construction of the fourth reactor—is 75% complete, also located at the Manchester manufacturing site, and is expected to commence production by the end of 2026.
Monica Kumar, President of NYCOA, stated: "The construction of new capacity for specialty nylon not only enriches our product portfolio but also allows us to seize the diverse opportunities emerging in the domestic market. These new assets will ensure a continuous and stable supply of products to our customers."
As production capacity continues to grow, the company will further expand its specialty nylon material product line and introduce new products such as NXTamid T™ Nylon 612 and Nylon 610, NY-Clear™ amorphous nylon 6i/6t for food packaging and automotive industries, and NXTamid L™, which performs at or exceeds the levels of Nylon 12 and Nylon 11 in various applications, offering a wide range of customization options. Additionally, the NY-Flex® series, as a polyether block amide (PEBA) copolymer, has critical applications in the footwear, medical device, and sports equipment sectors, further enhancing the long-chain nylon product system.
