Polychim and Milliken Launch High-Transparency PP Grades
Beaulieu International Group’s brand Polychim Industrie and diversified global manufacturer Milliken & Company have announced the first launch of two clarified polypropylene (PP) resin grades with UL Environmental Claim Validation (ECV) labels in Europe.
Energy consumption during the forming process is reduced by up to 10%.
Polychim, utilizing Milliken's Millad® NX® 8000 ECO additive solution, has launched its HJ45XI and HS45XI high transparency PP grades for the first time, which can reduce energy consumption by up to 10% during molding and have been validated to be transformative for the entire plastics value chain.
“We collaborated with Polychim to successfully develop a resin that can reduce the energy required to produce injection-molded parts.Maria Di Nolfo, European Sales Director at Milliken, said.We are pleased to see Polychim become the first resin manufacturer to introduce innovative, UL-verified high-performance formulations to the European market.
UL ECV is a third-party testing program offered by UL Solutions. The UL ECV label confirms that product claims have been independently verified by UL, which helps enhance consumer confidence and overall brand credibility. Brand owners using PP resins clarified with Millad NX 8000 ECO can display the UL ECV label on their injection-molded parts.
Improving Efficiency and Clarity with MILLAD® NX® 8000
“We are proud to introduce UL-certified resin grades made with Milliken Millad NX 8000 ECO clarifier."said Hery Randria, General Manager of Polychim."These grades have great potential to reduce energy consumption in the injection molding process. In addition, the Polychim plant produces only 1.0 kilogram of carbon dioxide per kilogram of polypropylene, minimizing environmental impact. These developments collectively reinforce our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the European market.
Polychim's HJ45XI and HS45XI are enhanced with Millad clarifiers, offering excellent aesthetics and processing efficiency. Compared to similar products on the market, these resins allow processors to save up to 10% in energy and costs by processing grades at lower temperatures and shorter cycle times. Both products are now available in Europe.
