Nissan Global Sales Fall 4.4% Year-on-Year in 2025
Nissan Motor Corporation recently announced its latest data, showing that its global sales for the full year 2025 were 3,202,137 units, a decrease of 4.4% compared to 3,348,692 units in 2024. Of this, domestic sales in Japan were 402,977 units, a year-on-year decrease of over 15%; overseas market sales were 2,799,160 units, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%. In December 2025, Nissan's global sales for the single month were 272,782 units, a decrease of 6.7% compared to 292,517 units in December 2024. Of this, Nissan's domestic sales in Japan were 28,339 units, a year-on-year decrease of 10%; overseas market sales were 244,443 units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4%, with significant declines in sales in the European and Chinese markets.

Regionally, Nissan's sales in the Chinese market are projected to be 653,024 units in 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%; in the European market, sales are expected to be 329,557 units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.2%; in the North American market, sales are projected to be 1,313,032 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%, with sales in the US market at 926,153 units, Mexico at 275,662 units (a year-on-year increase of 7.6%), and Canada at 109,743 units (a year-on-year increase of 6.5%); sales in other markets combined are expected to be 503,547 units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%.
In terms of production, Nissan's global operations in 2025 The total production volume was 2,950,035 units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%. Specifically, domestic production in Japan was 565,444 units, a year-on-year decrease of 14%; overseas production was 2,384,591 units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%. Breaking it down, production at US factories was 486,232 units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%; production at Chinese factories was 660,831 units, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%; production at Mexican factories was 658,536 units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%; and production at UK factories was 273,174 units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%.
Exports: In 2025, Nissan exported a total of 329,415 vehicles from Japan, representing a year-on-year decrease of over 17%. Of these, exports to the North American market were 136,643 units, a decrease of nearly 29% year-on-year; exports to the European market were 38,470 units, a decrease of over 36% year-on-year; and exports to other markets were 154,302 units, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year.
