New Generation, More Effective - BYK-1852 and BYK-1856 Silicone-Free Defoamers Upgraded Debut
In the development of the chemical industry, changes often occur unexpectedly. In recent years, increasingly stringent regulatory oversight has continuously reshaped the industry landscape, and the original series of silicone-free defoamers from Beke Chemical has also been affected. Additionally, the shutdown of key raw material suppliers and production lines poses significant challenges to the continuous supply and stable application of this series.
Challenges often give rise to opportunities. In response to changes and to meet the market demand for high-quality defoamers, the new generation of silicone-free polymer defoamers, BYK-1852 and BYK-1856, has been developed. BYK-1852 continues the original technology route and chemical composition, but has achieved significant upgrades—it is free of aromatic solvents. BYK-1856, on the other hand, is a newly developed acrylic ester defoamer, particularly suitable for high film thickness systems. Although some technical indicators and analytical data have been slightly adjusted, both products have been optimized in terms of application performance and production processes, aiming to provide more reliable and high-quality defoaming solutions for solvent-based and solvent-free systems.
BYK-1852
In different coating systems, the new product BYK-1852 shows superior defoaming performance compared to BYK-052 N, slightly outperforming it in multiple systems while retaining the same system compatibility as BYK-052 N. BYK-1852 can almost always directly replace BYK-052 N in all scenarios.

In the two-component high solid polyurethane varnish, the addition amount of component A is 0.5%.

BYK-1856
The newly developed product BYK-1856 is suitable for special application fields, especially for high film thickness systems such as anti-corrosion coatings, floor coatings, and thermosetting plastics. In epoxy systems, it exhibits stronger spontaneous defoaming performance and excellent compatibility.
In traditional two-component anti-corrosion epoxy primer, component A has an addition amount of 0.5%.

In the solvent-free two-component self-leveling epoxy floor paint, the addition amount of component A is 1.0%.
