On August 16, 2025, Suzhou Napan New Material Technology Co., Ltd. held the "New Energy Composite Materials Technology Summit and Thermoplastic Composite Products New Release Conference" by Jingting Lake in Xuancheng, Anhui.

In his speech, Zhou Xuanquan, General Manager of Napan, stated that new energy vehicles have entered an era of dual-driven development by "AI + materials," with innovative materials being key to enhancing vehicle performance. Napan has launched end-to-end integrated forming technology (EEM) through a full technology chain layout, achieving a closed loop across the entire chain from material research and development to product manufacturing.

In terms of technical performance, NAPAN has released continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite (CFRTP) products covering core components of the three-electric system.

1. Thermoplastic composite three-electric end cover: NVH performance superior to aluminum alloy, electromagnetic shielding (EMC) effectiveness above 60dB;

Thermoplastic composite underbody shield: Tensile strength > 400 MPa, impact resistance 500 Joules;

3. Thermoplastic composite battery box upper cover: weight reduced from 18kg to 6kg, a 67% reduction, with significantly improved fire resistance.

Deputy General Manager Chen Bin further validated the material performance through comparative experiments.

Mechanical properties: The tensile strength of PPS-based thermoplastic composites is greater than 430 MPa, far exceeding that of traditional thermoset SMC materials.

Impact resistance: Maintains integrity under an impact of 500 joules, which is more than three times that of conventional plastics.

Fire resistance: PPS-based thermoplastic composites do not burn through after 10 minutes of exposure to 1200°C fire, and the back surface temperature remains below 400°C.

Electromagnetic shielding: Shielding effectiveness reaches over 60dB, comparable to metal effects.

Regarding this new product, Professor Huang Surong from Shanghai University commented, "Thermoplastic composite materials have not only achieved a breakthrough in lightweighting but also addressed systemic issues such as electromagnetic shielding. Compared to traditional materials, they offer significant cost advantages, bringing revolutionary changes to electric drive systems. They will also effectively improve driving range and reduce costs, possessing great potential for widespread adoption."

As of now, leveraging the production capacity support of the Anhui manufacturing base and resources from investors like Cornerstone Capital, Napan is accelerating its engagement with OEMs and battery companies. It is promoting the implementation of the "replacing steel with plastic" trend in scenarios such as battery pack housings and vehicle body structural components, in response to the lightweight needs of new energy vehicles and the "dual carbon" policy requirements.
