Investment of 150 Million Yuan! Yuantian Bio's 10,000 Tons/Year Biological Enzyme Method Regenerated PTA Project Settles

Recycled PET New Horizons 2025-09-30 09:13:33

On September 28, Yuantian Biotechnology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yuantian Biotechnology) held a signing ceremony with the Management Committee of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking the official launch of the biological enzyme recycling PTA (purified terephthalic acid) project in the Tianjin Economic Development Zone. The project has a total investment of approximately 150 million yuan and will utilize advanced biological enzyme recycling technology to achieve the high-value and high-quality conversion of waste textiles, contributing to the development of the regional green circular economy.

Compared to traditional processes, the bio-enzyme technology offers advantages such as mild reaction conditions, less pollution, and higher product purity. This technology can degrade waste PET (polyethylene terephthalate) textiles into bulk organic raw materials rPTA and rEG (recycled ethylene glycol). The rbPET generated from further polymerization of these materials can be widely used in fields such as food packaging, textile fibers, and engineering materials.

"Relying on the rich industrial foundation and high-quality policy support of the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area, the biocatalytic regeneration PTA project constructed by Yuantian Bio will establish an industrial chain of 'waste textiles - rPTA/rEG - rbPET - regenerated fibers', achieving innovative breakthroughs in the field of textile recycling. This project not only aligns with the national 'dual carbon' policy orientation and the global sustainable development needs but also provides low-cost, high-quality recycled raw material solutions for downstream industries such as textiles, packaging, and electronics," said You Shengping, founder of Yuantian Bio.

After the project is put into production, it will be able to process about 10,000 tons of waste textiles annually, effectively alleviating the environmental pressure of textile waste and achieving resource recycling. Meanwhile, the project will lay a technological foundation for the subsequent construction of a 100,000 tons/year enzyme-based regenerated PTA production line and research center, promoting the transformation of the PET recycling industry from "low-efficiency recycling" to "high-value, green" practices.
