Inteplast Acquires STA, Strengthening Custom Coating Capabilities
Inteplast Group, a comprehensive plastics and paper products manufacturer, announced the acquisition of STA LLC. The company, renamed STA Coated Technologies, officially joins Inteplast's AmTopp Division's BOPP Films business unit, expanding the group's custom coating capabilities. BOPP Films operates four manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada: Gray Court, South Carolina; Lolita, Texas; Morristown, Tennessee; and Lanoraie, Quebec.

Leading company in sustainable adhesives and primer coatings
STA is a leading enterprise in the field of sustainable water-based adhesive and primer coating applications, specializing in high-performance adhesive tape product portfolios. In addition to its iconic acrylic carton sealing tape, a product with over 50 years of history, and the aforementioned water-based adhesives, STA also supplies hot melt tapes, fiber-reinforced tapes, and handheld tape dispensers. The company's facility in Rogersville, Tennessee, employs 40 people.
Inteplast states that Will Smith, COO of STA, will remain a member of the STA Coated Technologies management team, working alongside Homer Hsieh, President of AmTopp, and Paul Marquard, VP and General Manager of BOPP Films, to ensure a smooth transition for employees and customer business.
Product Portfolio Optimization
Hsieh stated that expanding the BOPP Films business through STA will optimize the dynamic product portfolio of the business unit.
"Inteplast BOPP is committed to expanding product innovation and material development to meet evolving market demands. The addition of STA's capabilities and capacity will further enhance our existing product portfolio," said Hsieh.
Marquard noted that STA Coated Technologies' product portfolio helped Inteplast achieve its product line expansion goals and support the evolving needs of its customers.

Smith added that joining Inteplast helps in the continued development of reliable, technologically advanced products required by the packaging industry and market.

Founded in 1991, Inteplast provides products for the healthcare, foodservice, packaging, building products, grocery, retail, sanitation, industrial, and graphic arts industries.
In 2025, the company acquired Reef Industries (a Texas-based manufacturer of various industry-specific films and laminates) and con-pearl (Europe's first producer of polypropylene honeycomb panels with a 35-year history of innovation in sustainable packaging technology), a German company.
Headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey, Inteplast has more than 100 plants and over 10,000 employees worldwide.
