The polyester raw material market showed strong fluctuations, and cost support remains, with most polyester bottle flake manufacturers keeping prices stable, while a few raised prices by 30 yuan/ton. Additionally, low-priced supplies have become somewhat tighter, causing the actual trading focus in the market to shift slightly upward. Downstream purchasing remains cautious, with demand driven mainly by necessity.

In terms of supply, the overall operating rate of PET bottle flakes is around 76.98%.

In the upstream market: International oil prices recovered from the overnight decline during the day, with general support from the cost side. PTA in the East China market fluctuated within a narrow range, with spot trading prices around 4610 yuan/ton. The ethylene glycol market showed a slight upward trend, with spot prices in the East China market around 3638 yuan/ton.

Market Forecast: The escalating tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela may provide potential support for the market. The European Union has decided to indefinitely freeze Russian assets, while Russia carried out strikes against Ukraine over the weekend. Today, U.S. and Ukrainian representatives will continue discussing the peace plan, and progress towards peace between Russia and Ukraine is still being made. It is expected that international crude oil futures prices will fluctuate within a range in the short term, with limited support from polyester cost factors. Downstream demand continues to be weak, and market participants remain cautious. In the short term, the polyester bottle chip market may also fluctuate within a range, with prices in the East China region expected to vary between 5600-5800 yuan/ton.
