Market Overview: On December 15, 2025, the polyester chip market prices remained stable with slight fluctuations. In the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, the trading price for semi-bright chips was around 5540 yuan/ton, unchanged from the previous working day, while the trading price for bright chips was at 5580 yuan/ton, also steady compared to the previous day. Crude oil prices rose slightly during the day, but the positive impact was limited, and the raw material market showed a mild upward adjustment with an overall moderate increase. Chip manufacturers maintained a cautious attitude, keeping prices stable, although there were minor fluctuations. Downstream confidence remained low, and rigid inquiries persisted.

Supply side: The average operating rate of the polyester chip industry is around 81.21%.

Upstream market: During the day, international oil prices recovered from the overnight decline, with general support from the cost side. The PTA market in East China fluctuated narrowly, and the spot negotiation price was 4,610 yuan/ton. The ethylene glycol market experienced strong fluctuations, with spot prices in the East China market around 3,638 yuan/ton.

Future Market Forecast: With escalating tensions between the United States and Venezuela, and progress in peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine, BaiChuan Yingfu predicts that international crude oil futures prices will fluctuate within a range in the short term. The rebound in cost-side momentum is insufficient, and downstream purchasing concentration has led to a tepid willingness to re-enter the market. It is expected that the polyester chip market will undergo weak adjustments in the short term, with semi-dull chip prices in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions fluctuating between 5430-5600 yuan/ton, and bright chip prices fluctuating between 5500-5700 yuan/ton.
