Best-Selling Fuel SUVs Are Domestic Cars, Joint Ventures Can’t Even Hold On to Fuel Vehicles?
While everyone is focusing on new energy vehicles, domestic fuel-powered cars have quietly launched a surprise attack in the territory traditionally held by joint ventures.
The sales data for November shows that the best-selling fuel SUVs are domestically produced models, with three out of the top five fuel SUV sales being Chinese brands. While new energy vehicles are making a high-profile advance, domestic fuel vehicles are quietly making significant profits.
The best-selling fuel SUV is a domestic car.
In November this year, three domestic cars ranked among the top five in the fuel SUV sales chart: the Geely Boyue L in first place, the Geely Xingyue L in fourth, and the Haval Big Dog in fifth.
Among them, the monthly sales of the Boyue L exceeded 31,000 units, ranking third among all SUVs, only behind the Model Y and Xiaomi YU7, surpassing the Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan L.

The Xingyue L continues to maintain its momentum, with monthly sales around 20,000 units multiple times this year. The Haval Dog has experienced a surge since August, with monthly sales exceeding 15,000 units for several consecutive months. The sales of these two domestic SUVs are higher than those of joint venture models such as the Corolla Cross, Tayron, Fenglanda, and Honda CR-V.

Among the top ten best-selling fuel SUVs, Chery Tiggo 8 is also on the list. In other words, four of the ten best-selling fuel SUV models are domestically produced vehicles.
In the fiercely competitive A-class fuel SUV market, among the top ten best-selling models, four domestic cars are also listed. In addition to the previously mentioned Boyue L, Xingyue L, and Haval Big Dog, the Changan CS75 PLUS is also among them.

The joint venture cars, once proud of their fuel SUV market, are now being "invaded" by domestic cars.
Domestic oil vehicles quietly make a fortune.
The rise of domestic fuel-powered vehicles is not limited to the SUV market; in the equally competitive sedan market, domestic fuel-powered vehicles have also emerged as leaders.
In the top ten sales of compact sedans in November this year, two domestic fuel cars, Changan Eado and Chery Arrizo 8, made the list. Geely's Xingrui and Emgrand ranked eleventh and twelfth respectively, with the sales of these four domestic fuel cars all surpassing the Corolla.

In terms of mid-size sedans, the Hongqi H5 broke into the top five in sales, ranking only behind the Passat, Camry, and Magotan, selling better than the Accord, Avalon, and BMW 3 Series.
Moreover, domestically produced gasoline cars are not only popular in the domestic market but also well-received overseas.
From January to November this year, Chery's total vehicle exports reached 1.199 million units, with approximately 30% being new energy vehicles. This estimates the export volume of fuel vehicles to be around 800,000 units. During the same period, SAIC Motor Corporation exported 969,000 units, with new energy vehicles accounting for about 45%. This estimates the export volume of fuel vehicles to be around 500,000 units.
Domestic fuel cars, overshadowed by new energy vehicles, deserve to be seen and valued more.
