Agilyx has established Plastyx Ltd. to supply raw materials for the European plastic recycling industry.
Agilyx announced the establishment of Plastyx Ltd. in collaboration with Plastic Energy founder Carlos Monreal, aimed at sourcing and supplying feedstock for the advanced plastic recycling market in Europe.
Agilyx表示,尽管 advanced plastic recycling technologies are being scaled up industrially and complementing mechanical recycling, the growth of the industry is constrained by a limited supply of consistent, high-quality feedstocks. Plastyx aims to bridge this gap by developing partnerships and materials processing capabilities to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality polymers for food-grade and other high-performance packaging applications.
The company stated that its recent goal is to procure and execute a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for 200,000 metric tons of waste plastic by the end of 2025. Plastyx Ltd. is a joint venture established by Agilyx and Circular Resources in a 60:40 ratio, with Monreal serving as the chairman.
"Agilyx is committed to establishing an international procurement platform to support our interests in Cyclyx," said Agilyx CEO Ranjeet Bhatia. "Carlos is a leader in our field with an unparalleled understanding of the advanced recycling industry. By linking Cyclyx’s industry-leading feedstock management capabilities with Plastyx, through Agilyx's shared ownership interest, we are launching an exciting pioneer in this critical niche market."
In similar news, Dow recently partnered with ING, Invest-NL, Polestar Capital, and Vopak to acquire a stake in Xycle, a chemical and advanced recycling company based in Rotterdam. The funds raised will be used to build Xycle's first commercially scaled advanced recycling plant, which is expected to be fully operational by the fourth quarter of 2026 and is anticipated to have a plastic waste processing capacity of 21,000 tons per year.
OMV announced last month the expansion of its proprietary ReOil technology at its Schwechat refinery, with plans to convert up to 16,000 tons per year of difficult-to-recycle mixed plastic waste into chemical feedstock. The ReOil process converts post-consumer mixed plastic waste into pyrolysis oil, which can then be used as raw material for the production of basic chemicals.
