30% Production Capacity Increase! SSOCO Maryland Advanced Materials Expansion Project Groundbreaking Ceremony Held
Syensqo, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, announced the groundbreaking of its expansion project at the Havre de Grace facility in Maryland. This project involves an investment of millions of dollars and will increase the plant's capacity by over 30%, further enhancing Syensqo's production layout in the United States.
This expansion strengthens Sika's global manufacturing network, relying on advanced material solutions to meet the growing demands of the aerospace industry; it also fulfills the company's commitment to continuously supply high-performance structural adhesives and surface treatment products to customers in the commercial aviation, defense, power propulsion, aerospace, advanced air mobility, and automotive sectors.
Rodrigo Elizondo, President of Syensqo’s Composite Materials business, said: “This groundbreaking marks an important milestone for the Havre de Grace site and for the continued expansion of Syensqo’s Composite Materials business. This investment will enhance supply reliability, optimize production efficiency, and better meet rising customer demand for adhesives, bonding agents, and primer products. The project is complementary to the previously announced capacity expansion at the Wrexham site in the UK, creating strong synergies.”
