Major Breakthrough! Pingmei Shenma Achieves Domestic Control of Core Technologies for Two Key Raw Materials of Nylon 66
Recently, China Pingmei Shenma Group marked a milestone in its nylon new materials industry: the third-phase project of Aisan’s 100,000-ton-per-year aminocapronitrile facility officially broke ground, while the first-phase project of Aidian’s 200,000-ton-per-year adiponitrile facility successfully commenced operations—both projects advancing concurrently and achieving dual implementation.

The commissioning of these two major projects—“one investment, one operation”—holds landmark significance, officially establishing Pingmei Shenma’s industry position as the world’s only company capable of independently mastering the core technologies for both key raw materials of nylon 66, and completely breaking the long-standing foreign technological monopoly and supply-chain constraints on critical raw materials such as adiponitrile.
Among them, the Phase III project of Aisan's 100,000 tons of aminocapronitrile has a considerable total investment scale, adopting the self-developed third-generation pressurization process by the group, with completely independent core intellectual property, mature technology, and strong adaptability; the Phase I project of Aidian's 200,000 tons of adiponitrile, using the advanced direct butadiene hydrogenation cyanide technology route, has multiple advantages such as a short process flow, low energy consumption, excellent environmental performance, and controllable production costs, with product quality reaching high-end industry standards.
Nylon 66 is a critical base material in the fields of high-end synthetic fibers, engineering plastics, and new materials, with adiponitrile and aminocapronitrile being core, bottleneck raw materials constraining industrial development. For many years, Pingmei Shenma has been deeply engaged in the nylon new materials sector, continuously intensifying its scientific research efforts. Through prolonged technological iteration and experimental breakthroughs, the company has successfully established two key technical pathways: butadiene-based adiponitrile production and aminocapronitrile synthesis from caprolactam, thereby creating a "dual-engine" raw material supply development model.
With the completion and operation of the two major projects, the company will further expand the production capacity of key raw materials, strengthen the weak links in the industrial chain, and improve the full industrial chain layout from basic chemical raw materials to high-end nylon new materials. This will strongly support the acceleration and upgrading of the "China Nylon City" construction in Pingdingshan, providing a solid raw material guarantee and technical support for the autonomous, large-scale, and high-quality development of the domestic nylon industry and high-end new material industry.
