LG Chem EV Robot High-Purity PVC Wins CHINAPLAS 2026 Award

Recently, during the CHINAPLAS 2026 International Rubber and Plastics Exhibition, LG Chem won the "Excellence Award" in the "Top Ten Technical Trends in Rubber and Plastics 2026" selection event, by showcasing its high-polymerization PVC HRTP series materials.

This award marks the substantial achievements of LG Chem's business transformation, based on high-value, high-performance materials, on a global stage. This is also the second consecutive year that the HRTP series has been recognized for its technological prowess at an international exhibition, following its selection as the "Innovation of the Year" project at CHINAPLAS 2026.

The selection committee stated that ultra-high-purity PVC material demonstrates strong competitive advantages in properties such as flexibility, flame resistance, and wear resistance. It not only has a solid application foundation but can also be applied to emerging fields such as electric vehicle charging cables.

The HRTP series is a specialized material based on general-purpose PVC, featuring high heat resistance, high flexibility, and high durability—effectively meeting the new requirements of emerging industries such as electric vehicles and robotics. Charging cables made from this material exhibit approximately 30% greater flexibility compared to existing materials and maintain stable performance even under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.

Meanwhile, the HRTP series, with its soft tactile feel and excellent wear resistance, is experiencing steady growth in demand for applications such as automotive seat upholstery. This material achieves high performance without requiring chemical cross-linking reactions and is recyclable, earning recognition as a high-value-added material that meets requirements for high performance, high safety, and sustainability.

Additionally, LG Chem’s eco-friendly packaging material “UNIQABLE™” also won an Excellence Award. This product line is actively expanding its portfolio of materials that meet the dual demands of high performance and sustainability across multiple industries, including consumer packaging.
