40,000 tons per year polyoxymethylene project runs steadily
Recently, the 40,000-ton-per-year polyoxymethylene project in the Kuqa Economic and Technological Development Zone, operated by Xinjiang Bingneng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xinjiang Zhongxinjian Energy and Mining Group Co., Ltd., has achieved stable production, with products rolling off the line one after another. Completed and put into operation in just 10 months, the project has set the “Bingtuan speed” for the construction of similar domestic projects, filled the gap in the high-end engineering plastics industry in southern Xinjiang, and become a demonstration project for the Bingtuan in fostering new quality productive forces and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.
The total investment of the project is RMB 810 million, and it adopts Poland’s ZAT polyoxymethylene production technology.

Polyoxymethylene (POM) is an engineering plastic with excellent overall performance. Due to its high elastic modulus, high hardness, high rigidity, and outstanding mechanical strength over a wide temperature range, as well as its density far lower than that of metals, it is known as the “metal of plastics.” Owing to its excellent self-lubricating properties, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability, polyoxymethylene (POM) is widely used in automotive parts, precision electronic and electrical equipment, industrial machinery, and other fields, and is one of the key polymer materials for replacing traditional metal materials such as steel, copper, and aluminum.
