The origins of TPI for Packaging can be traced back many years, starting with the Robson Rope company based on Robson Street in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. In this picture from around 1957, the entrance to the rope works is marked by number 7. From this family business, Trent Paper Importers were subsequently formed and as this business grew and moved into extruding and converting polythene, along with the supply of a more diverse range of packaging products, the initials were used as the new name for the business: TPI for Packaging Ltd.
