Our History 1960 The Packaging Centre began life in the 1960’s, manufacturing paper bags in Dublin’s inner city under the direction of a Mr Leslie Drew. 1970 Moving to its present location on the intersection of the Naas Road and Long Mile Road in the 1970’s it diversified into selling plastic packaging and general packaging for industry. Led by Dick Powell for 25 years it prided itself on providing quality and innovative packaging to help Irish business to succeed. 2010 Following his retirement in 2010 his son Ivan, with partner Ronnie Mclernon now runs the business, retaining the same objectives and a philosophy of doing the best for customers in an open and honest manner. 2018 A whole new gift packaging range was launched with the acquisition of John Doyle Distributors. A superb range of hamper and luxurious wine gift packaging range was introduced with great success. The continual expansion of our range reinforces Epackaging.ie as the “one stop shop” online store for packaging of all types in Ireland. 2015 The Packaging Centre was awarded the quality certificate ISO 9001:2015. This is to certify that the Quality Management System of The Packaging Centre has been assessed by Certification Europe and deemed to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The Certificate is valid for activities in the sales and distribution of packaging products. 2012 The Packaging Centre made its first tentative steps onto the internet with its own online store Epackaging.ie. Epackaging.ie was designed to offer 24/7 service 365 days a year for online orders – offering next day deliveries nationwide for the enormous range of products held at The Packaging Centre. Since then the range of products has grown every year and the success of this online presence is reflected in a huge number of daily orders. 2022 The Packaging Centre was acquired by Zeus Packaging Ltd. With a global reach spanning over 30 countries, the power of Zeus has brought us extensive supply chains, access to new products and markets, and enabled us to become a strategic partner to both our suppliers and customers.
