Since June 2015, the idea of colorful socks emerged. Hearing this, all my friends found it quite amusing and treated it as another one of my crazy ideas that would never be realized. “You, a serious director of an international company, will be making socks? Hahahaha” - that sentence still resonates in my ears. It was May 2016 (likely smelling of Saska Kępa) when it happened, TAKAPARA officially began to function. Having no clue about how sock design and production look, I started to learn about it. Very quickly, the first colorful models appeared in TAKAPARA's offer. They may not have been funny socks, but they couldn’t be called boring. Initially, geometric pattern socks appeared, broken by intense colors. Since TAKAPARA is a company from Łódź, it seemed natural to name the individual models after Łódź streets. Due to my attachment to my city, you will find socks named after Piłsudskiego 4m1, Targowa 11m4, or Piotrkowska 5m2 in the offer. This may not be convenient for export, but after all, TAKAPARA is a company from the city of Łódź, the names must also be local - and that’s final. Over time, the catalog of TAKAPARA socks has expanded, and the offer has included funny mismatched socks, sports socks, elegant dress socks, artistic socks, and also cool accessories and additions. Since 2016, much has changed and TAKAPARA is no longer a one-person company at the end of the pack. Today, I can confidently say that we are on the podium!
