Established in 2014... and not one Warranty Claim on our Chassis. Why no Warranty Claims ?...........3 reasons: 1. Spitfire Trailers, like Aircraft, are not welded, rather bolted together. Aluminium, in a static situation like a building can be as strong as steel. However in a mobile and turbulent situation, like an aircraft or boat trailer, Aluminium needs to flex to relieve stress. A weld on aluminium becomes very hard, the metal beside the weld is still soft. This flexing will crack the main metal, not on the weld, but beside the weld, where two metals of different hardness meet. 2, Another reason why Spitfire have never had a Chassis Warranty Claim is because we use the same Chassis for all our Braked Trailers under 3,500 kg. That is right. If you purchase a 1,200 kg, a 1,500 kg, a 2,000 kg a 3,000 kg ATM Spitfire Trailer... then, even though it might be shorter, that trailer has exactly the same chassis as our 3,500 kg Trailers. 3. Finally, Anodised & Hardened Aluminium. Correct us if we are wrong, but we believe Spitfire is the only Boat Trailer Company in the world to Anodised and Harden our Boat Trailers. Why Anodise & Harden... and how is it done.? Anodising is an intentional electrically actioned Oxidisation of the surface. This Oxidation brakes the electrical conductivity which is necessary for electrolysis which occurs when two metals of different nobility are in contact and exposed to a liquid... i.e. salt water. Hardening strengthens the Aluminium from T4 to T6. How is this done ? Simple, we extrude the aluminium, cut it to length, CNC drill it, bend it to shape, return it to the oven and harden it to T6....then we Anodise it.... even inside the drilled holes are Anodised and protected. Most importantly, it is Hardened and Anodised in its final bent shape. We can not be more professional.
