Simpak International, LLC

Simpak began in May 2004 when founder and inventor of the SimPads, Michael Lyons, developed and patented the SimPad product. From 1988 to 2002, Mr. Lyons was the President and Owner of Creative Packaging in Louisville, KY where he continued development of SimPads. Once Mr. Lyons was awarded the US Patent for SimPads, he reached out to other investors and formed Simpak International, LLC. In the early years of Simpak, developing automated machinery to mass produce the product proved difficult. By 2007, reliable machinery landed on Simpak’s floor and the company was ready for dynamic growth. Between 2007 and 2010, Simpak grew over 1,100%, winning the 2011 Inc. 500 Award as the number 273rd fastest growing privately held company in the USA. Other awards along the way included the 2009 Kentucky Manufacturer of the Year Award, 2006 Pack Expo Innovative Product of the Year Award, and the 2011 Louisville, KY Inc.credible Award. In addition, Mr. Lyons was a finalist for the 2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr. Lyons died in 2018, but Simpak International lives on with many loyal and satisfied customers. Simpak is currently manufacturing in Louisville, KY in a 43,000 square feet facility. The company’s current customer base includes vertical markets such as electronics, pumps, motors, fragile items, sanitary porcelain, thermal packaging, etc. Simpak continues to increase its growing customer base by adding new markets that are a good fit for the SimPads as well as adding new products such as Pocket Packaging that will be a great fit for additional markets. We have Simpads available in both a recycled EPS content as well as a biodegradable option.
