Shawpak is a UK manufacturer of a range of packaging equipment for medical devices. Shawpak was formed in 2013 when David Shaw, CEO, thought that linear thermoforming machines - some of which are six metres long - could be condensed into a smaller machine, but with the same input. The first development was the revolutionary rotary thermoforming machine. Since then, Shawpak have developed a unique range of packaging equipment for medical devices, including rotary thermoforming machinery, rigid blister making equipment and pouch machinery. With a focus on delivering the highest quality to our global customer base, Shawpak are ISO 9001 certified and our electrical engineers are certified to design, manufacture and build electrical panels to UL 508A standards. From start to finish we offer a complete solution, dedicated to the medical industry, Shawpak are well positioned to provide service support with service teams based in Europe and North America. Our service specialists are able to provide highly economical service plans which range from telephone support to tailor made total care packages. The RT Series comes in a range of 32-20, 42-25, 62-25 & 82-20 and can produce both rigid and flexible packs. Unlike traditional linear thermoformers, the Shawpak thermoforming machine uses a rotary drum to form, fill and seal the medical devices. Using a drum reduces the need for expensive clean room space, as it’s so compact. It also reduces waste on blister packs and increases the flexibility for tool changeover. The LP Series -launched at the start of 2021 - represents the best solution for packaging flat medical products. The Shawpak pouch machine is a highly flexible and innovative solution for producing pouches. The machine can also be utilised to make 4-side seal packs for flat medical devices. Other beneficial features include a compact bespoke design, which saves valuable floor space and utilises modular assemblies for quick changeovers and improved accessibility. The LT63-38 machine is able to produce larger blister packs, allows for product retention by including undercut on packs and has the ability to male vacuum form. The maximum blister size is 630 x 380x100mm.
