The parent company of our company, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, formerly known as the Second Automotive Works, was established in September 1969. In 2000, Dongfeng Motor Corporation underwent a debt restructuring and jointly established our company with China Huarong Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Orient Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Great Wall Asset Management Co., Ltd., and the China Development Bank. Our company was officially registered on May 18, 2001. In 2004, after repurchasing all shares held by shareholders other than Dongfeng Motor Corporation, we changed to a joint stock limited company. On December 6, 2005, our company made its first overseas issuance of H-shares, followed by an over-allotment on December 13, 2005, which expanded our total share capital to RMB 8,616,120,000, comprising RMB 5,760,388,000 (approximately 66.86%) in domestic shares and RMB 2,855,732,000 (approximately 33.14%) in H-shares. As of December 31, 2016, our company owned 21 subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other companies with direct equity interests, as well as 2 branches. The Dongfeng Motor Group is primarily engaged in the production and sales of commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and automotive engines and parts, equipment manufacturing, financial services, and other auto-related businesses. According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, based on the total sales volume of domestic commercial vehicle and passenger car manufacturers, in 2016, the Dongfeng Motor Group held approximately 11.3% of the domestic market share.
