Uses of sealing tape
Sealing of flanges with various enamel linings, glass linings, plastic linings, rubber linings, graphite linings, as well as stainless steel, titanium steel towers, heat exchangers, reactors and other flange surfaces.
Sealing of various pipelines and pipe fittings flange surfaces.
Sealing of flange surfaces of large-diameter equipment with poor surface processing accuracy, large irregular areas, irregular shapes, and inappropriate bolt tightening force.
Sealing of strong corrosive media and fluids that cannot be contaminated.
Outstanding properties of expanded PTFE sealing tape:
Excellent sealing performance. The sealing tape has a high compressibility and easily fills the voids and grooves on the sealing surface, blocking interface leaks. It also has the characteristic of rebound expansion under tension, so the higher the internal medium pressure, the greater the sealing force, which is the magical characteristic of the sealing tape.
Convenient and quick to use. Cut a length of expanded PTFE sealing tape needed, overlap the two ends, and a seal ring of any size and shape can be formed. The adhesive tape attached to one side of the sealing tape can fix it on the equipment sealing surface for easy installation. Then, only a small bolt tightening force (pre-tightening force of 50Kgf/cm2) is needed to achieve a good seal.
Durable. PTFE has corrosion resistance and non-aging properties, and the specially processed sealing tape is given good creep resistance and long-term safe use in a wide temperature range.
Clean. The expanded PTFE sealing tape is a white PTFE product that is not corroded or aged, so it will not contaminate the fluid it comes into contact with.
Economical. Various types and sizes of preformed gaskets require manual cutting or punching, resulting in material and labor costs. In contrast, the sealing tape can form a seal ring of a certain specification by overlapping the two ends, without any waste. A few sizes of sealing tape can meet daily needs, saving the expensive cost of stocking various sizes of preformed gaskets. The expanded PTFE sealing tape can fill irregular sealing surfaces, reduce the processing accuracy of sealing surfaces, revive components and equipment corroded, washed, or worn on sealing surfaces, and its long service life and reduced maintenance frequency make it more economically viable.
Instructions:
Clean and dry the sealing surface, select a width of expanded PTFE sealing tape, remove the protective paper from the adhesive tape, press the sealing tape on the outer edge of the sealing surface, overlap the two ends at a bolt, leaving at least 2cm on each side of the intersection (note: when using on a flat flange, the two ends must overlap. When using on a grooved flange, they can be parallel and overlap by at least 2cm.), close the corresponding sealing surface, evenly tighten the bolts, the intersection will be pressed to the same thickness as other parts, and there will be no leaks at the intersection.
