Spirex has over eighty years of experience and expertise in steam systems and related equipment. In steam system applications, it is sometimes necessary to isolate steam pipelines or equipment, whether by manual or automatic control. Spirex ball valves can provide safe, predictable, and reliable isolation because they are specifically designed for steam system applications.
Steam systems demand strict attention to detail, which requires good design. Years of research and development, continuous updates in manufacturing equipment, and extensive successful applications in critical scenarios ensure that Spirex ball valves meet these requirements.

Spirex Floating Steel Ball Concept
The design of the floating steel ball with a soft seat ensures that the ball valve can achieve ANSI VI sealing level.
Only by using suitable high-quality products can the steam system operate safely and reliably. The elastic seat material ensures a tight seal under high or low system pressures and can reduce wear and valve operating torque. Some models feature an integrated seat/body gasket, and clean steam models can also provide cavity filler. All ball valves are specifically designed for steam system applications.
PTFE material has low friction resistance, durability, low thermal resistance, and excellent chemical stability. The recommended maximum saturated steam pressure is 10 bar g.
Steam system sealing materials. Sealing materials developed by DuPont specifically for Spirex feature high-temperature resistance (260℃) and low friction characteristics. The recommended maximum saturated steam pressure is 17.5 bar g.
Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has tough material, high-temperature resistance, good thermoplasticity—high tensile and shear strength, creep resistance, fatigue resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance.
The recommended maximum saturated steam pressure is 39 bar g.
R-PTFE (25% glass-filled) has excellent compressive and heat resistance, reducing wear under high loads. It is especially recommended for clean steam applications.

Spirex recommends using ball valves with ISO installation for automatic control. Electric actuators (BVEA200 series) with 1/4 turn and single/double-acting pneumatic actuators (BVA200 series) are available, complete with limit switches and gearbox couplings for manual override control.

2. If the product model has been selected by the design unit, please directly order from our business department according to the model;
3. When the application is particularly important or the piping is complex, please provide design drawings and detailed parameters for our engineers to review and verify.
