Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) Sheet extrusion molding process used to involve single-screw and double-screw extruders. However, with advancements in science and technology, we have adapted low compression ratio single-screw extrusion processes and equipment to form various shapes of extruded products. Typically, this UHMWPE sheet can be machined into plates, profiles, guide rails for conveyor lines, movable components for ski rails, cable sheaths for automotive applications, joints, and liners for fluid transport pipes.
   
    UHMWPE sheet is used in the paper and wastewater treatment industries for bearings, dewatering bases, slide rails, and filtration devices. The electrolytic cell diaphragm is made from porous high molecular polyethylene sheets, demonstrating the material's excellent corrosion resistance. High-strength molecular polyethylene fibers are a newly developed material currently under development. These fibers are used in racing sailboats, requiring the material to have a high overall performance, such as being lightweight, mold-resistant, and producing parts with dimensional stability. This fiber is also used as a reinforcement material for composite structures.
   
    The wear resistance of UHMWPE sheets is the highest among plastics and exceeds that of certain metals. Compared to other engineering plastics, the abrasive wear index of high molecular polyethylene sheets is only 1/5 that of PA66 and 1/10 that of HEPE and PVC; when compared to metals, it is 1/7 that of carbon steel and 1/27 that of brass. This high level of wear resistance makes it difficult to test using standard plastic wear testing methods, leading to the design of a specialized abrasive wear testing device.
