Uses of the Sealing Tape
Sealing of flange surfaces of various enameled linings, glass linings, plastic linings, rubber linings, graphite linings, and stainless steel and titanium steel towers, heat exchangers, reaction kettles, etc.
Sealing of flange surfaces of various pipes and pipe fittings.
Sealing of flange surfaces for large-diameter equipment with poor surface machining accuracy, where uneven areas are large, irregular shapes are present, and where bolt tightening force may be insufficient or should not be excessive.
Sealing for strongly corrosive media and fluids that cannot tolerate any contamination.
Excellency of Expanded PTFE Sealing Tape:
Exceptional sealing performance. The sealing tape has a high compressibility, easily filling voids and grooves on the sealing surface, blocking interface leaks, and possesses a rebound expansion characteristic when subjected to tension. Therefore, the higher the internal pressure, the greater the sealing force, which is the magic characteristic of the sealing tape.
Convenient and quick to use. Cut a length of the required expanded PTFE sealing tape, and by simply overlapping the two ends, an arbitrary size and shape sealing ring can be formed. The adhesive tape attached to one side of the sealing tape can secure the sealing tape to the equipment sealing surface for easy installation, requiring only a small bolt tightening force (a small pre-tension of 50Kgf/cm²) to achieve a good seal.
Durable. Polytetrafluoroethylene has corrosion resistance and non-aging properties, and the specially processed sealing tape is endowed with excellent creep resistance and the ability to be used safely over a wide temperature range for extended periods.
Clean and tidy. The expanded PTFE sealing tape is a white polytetrafluoroethylene product that is not corroded or aged; therefore, it will not pollute the fluids it comes into contact with due to shedding.
Cost-effective. Various types of standard sealing gaskets require manual cutting or punching, which wastes materials and labor, leading to high costs. In contrast, the sealing tape can form a sealing ring of a specific size simply by overlapping the two ends, resulting in zero waste. A few specifications of sealing tape can meet daily needs, eliminating the expensive costs of stocking various standard sealing gaskets. The expanded PTFE sealing tape can adequately fill irregular sealing surfaces, reducing the required processing accuracy, and revitalizing components and equipment that may have rusted, eroded, or worn out. Additionally, its long service life and reduced maintenance frequency further enhance its economic value.
Usage Instructions:
Clean and dry the sealing surface, choose a width of the expanded PTFE sealing tape, remove the protective paper from the adhesive tape, and adhere the sealing tape to the outer edge of the sealing surface. The two ends should overlap at a bolt location, with at least 2 cm remaining beyond the crossover point (Note: When used on flat flanges, the ends must overlap. When used on groove flanges, they can be laid parallel, overlapping more than 2 cm). Close the corresponding sealing surfaces and evenly tighten all bolts; the overlapping points will also be compressed to the same thickness as the other areas, ensuring no leakage at the crossing point.
